BTW, Gary Johnson would do a lot of the same things as Paul, but there's a difference: he would also establish the principles of chemical and visual trespass, among other things.

So if your neighbor had a burning barrel and the fumes gave you a coughing fit, you could sue -- or if a factory leaked pollution and it messed up your yard, you could sue -- and you'd get the whole thing (unless there were neighbors involved, of course).

Since when is being in your late 70's, early 80's deprive you of rational thought ?

I've learned some of my most important life lessons from folks that were
approaching their 90's.

Reason being ? They've been here longer than we have ! Life and history go round and round in circles and those that are lucky enough to keep their "wits about them" are our most valuable resource.

They are like living history books.

To imply that younger candidates "know better" is short-sighted nonsense.

Eastern cultures are wise enough to recognize this fact, while Western culture turns to Snookie and Dr. Phil to guide our way.

I agree with some of Ron Paul, but I also vehemently disagree with many other policies in his platform. I at least give credit to the guy for having a good heart and being passionate about some very important issues unlike the mistake-prone flip-floppers.

However, he will never, EVER win the Republican nomination, chance1. It's not going to happen. The party machine will not let him, and the party base is too crazy and distorted right now to handle a candidate of substance.

When I contemplate the Republican field, I get like Herman Cain. Things begin "to twirl around in my head." I've reached the point where I'm not sure which one should give the most worries to Obama. I'm beginning to think that Romney isn't necessarily the strongest candidate. I saw a clip of his interview with Bret Baier last night. Wow. Not very presidential. Huntsman may emerge after all. He's the only one who is both sane and a normal human being. He was the one Obama always worried most about.

His stance of Ayn Rand "right and wrong should have nothing to do with anything, I should be able to do whatever I want, no matter what, so long as it serves my purpose" leads us from "let the gays get married if they want" to "let me have a whites only restaurant" to "let me buy people to reduce costs and boost my bottom line."

Anyone who believes in "self-interest" above all else is a pretty dangerous person.

The issue as I see it - and a big duh for sure ......

Candidates need to:

1 - win the repub primary
2- compete/win in the general

they are not in sync - so a guy like romney who if repubs said early on ..... he's our person

could've spent time on real program ideas - centrist ideas - that would resonate with repubs and indies and some dems

instead - he's now attacking newt on "amnesty"

so if he wins the primary (big IF) he will then spend his time in the general being attacked for his tacking right now

he's dooomed

Very true. And Huntsman would give Pres. Obama a good race, certainly among independents. But, no way is he securing any repub nomination. Neither is Doctor Paul. Both of them are refreshing, compared to their primary opponents.
