RuPaul's Drag Race (Season 8)

Chi Chi is the Shangela of this season. Most of the queens don't expect too much from her but she keeps pulling surprises out and is able to work with the materials she is given. Thorgy was acting like a Heather her last two episodes. She greatly underestimated Chi Chi's determination to win and that led Thorgy to drop her guard and not give it her all during the lip sync. She could have given so much more since the song is dramatic and Thorgy can easily given more emotion in her performance. Naomi and Derrick will be next to go because while they've shown so much improvement in such a short period of time, it's not enough to make it into the top three. Chi Chi will make it in because the next challenge is the classic three looks for a single theme challenge and Chi Chi could pull something amazing with what is handed to her. Derrick will struggle with that challenge given how poorly she has done making runway looks a majority of the time. The Madonna and Black and White looks were her best and the others were badly executed. The Christmas look was a disaster, the 80s one was passable but nothing to write home about and the Wizard of Oz one was completely botched up and didn't even scream Tin Man aside from the hatchet. Derrick will probably go next and then possibly Naomi. Kim Chi will definitely do well with the next challenge given that amazing looks are one of her best known traits and she manages to fit the runway themes quite well and only landed in the bottom three the one time due to her acting.

Naomi and Derrick are sub par snooze fest. neither have done anything other than forgettable the whole season. So Derrick left. I knew she wouldn't last any longer since her growth of improvement wasn't the same amount as Chi Chi. Chi Chi is definitely this season's Shangela and underdog. No one expected this much from either and Chi Chi made it one week further than Shangela did. Thorgy had no idea how talented Chi Chi truly is and how she is a legitimate threat in the competition. And this week's main challenge was an easy win for Kim Chi. Outrageous looks are her specialty and Chi Chi wasn't going home this week since using unconventional materials is something we all have seen her do before.

This was such a fun episode to watch! It was Derrick's time, and I really like the final four. At this point, it's impossible to tell who's going to win, let alone the top three. We've recently seen Bob's Achilles' heel; she's not invincible.

Projected Top 3: Bob, Kim Chi, and Naomi. I know that Chi Chi is still in the running (STILL love her Eartha Kitt!), but this is what I think right now.

And it was nice to see both Amy AND David Sedaris together! I've never seen them together on video!

Kim Chi is the only one now who hasn't lip synced for her life so far. She is doing just as well as I knew she would and she is one of my favorites this season. I also can relate to her on many levels. We're both Asians, I can speak some Korean, both our parents are pretty traditional Asians, we've both felt like we have let our parents down, and we're not exactly the skinniest people ever to exist.
 
Yes, the bitch is gone thank god and that means Derrick, not Throgy. That makeup of Derrick's must have been the ugliest in the drag race history, she looked like a drunken one dollar hooker, ew! But this episode was so much fun to watch and quite exciting too. Looking forward to see if Kim Chi can sissy that walk, which I doubt. All black Top 3 in this season I assume.
 
Kim Chi or Chi Chi should win, both Bob and Naomi will do great things without the crown.
 
Am I the only one ready for All Stars 2. This season is pretty much over now. I think for the first time ever the top 3 will be all black. Must be some kind of record for a competition reality show.
 
I think Derrick became the new Betty in the last three episodes she was in. I mean she really ripped Chi Chi apart for saying that Derrick needed to go home but Chi Chi only said it because she had to name someone and it's not like Chi Chi singled her out alone. Derrick was just lucky to make it as far as she did with her looks mostly being either bland and uninspired or a complete mess. Her book look might have done well if it wasn't another bathing suit look. She could have made a skirt very easily with some glue and not make it very detailed other than adding glitter to the surface. Naomi has shown more personality but I think she won't make the top three. Kim Chi and Bob are the shoo ins and Chi Chi will make it for being able to turn bad situations into her favor. Chi Chi won't be easy to send home in a lip sync. It was clear that this was Kim and Chi Chi's challenge and both made amazing looks. Naomi did a really nice job as well. Ivy Winters proved that you could make an amazing dress entirely out of paper and this is what Derrick failed to do. Bob only failed because he used cardboard but it was still better than Derrick's. Derrick trying to coordinate the cut outs wasn't a bad idea but it left no time to make it look like an actual outfit and not another bathing suit.
 
I'm happy with the top 3 of Kim Chi, Naomi, and Bob. Naomi really grew on me during the competition. She's a long short for the win but I won't be mad if she takes it. I always knew Bob would make it to the top 3 no surprise there. I'm still not sure who is going to win but if this was Vegas I would put my money on Kim Chi.

I'm all for Kim Chi. Drag Race needs another Asian to win the crown. I identify with her so much!
 
Put me down for being "happy with the Top 3." Very good group! I don't even care who wins because they're all winner material, and I'm happy for them all. Still bummed that Chi Chi didn't make it, though. :( Maybe she'll get Miss Congeniality.

Kim is just a statue and Bob's plain ugly. I hope Naomi wins, she the only one out of my favs still competing!

Why is it that Miss Congeniality is usually someone that finishes fourth or fifth? Anyone else find that odd?
