Russian Invasion of Ukraine

On the evening of November 4, the Armed Forces of Ukraine has apparently launched successful strikes on the sea and port infrastructure of the Zaliv shipyard in temporarily occupied Kerch, (Crimea) according to reports from StratCom of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This may have included hitting a ship and damages to the drydock but there has been no confirmation yet. It is rumored that the Karakurt-Class Corvette "Askold" was damaged.

The UA's stated objective is to drive the Black Sea Fleet out of Crimea.

With longer range missiles, any ships are easier targets in the western Black Sea.

No additional confirmation that the ship was the "Askold".....just that a ship was damaged.

This is the Askvold, capable of firing onyx and cruise missiles. Or maybe that should be 'was' because reports are that it was hit by 3 missiles while in the shipyard.

In response, RF bombarded Odessa yesterday with multiple Shahed drones and missiles aimed at port infrastructure although one hit the Art Museum doing some serious damage. RF also launched more bombs at Kherson (87) than it has on any day since the war began.

Ukraine also confirmed that 19 troops were killed in a missile attack in Zaporizhzhia north if the front line. The incident resulted in dismissals and investigation as to whether criminal charges would be brought because it is said that the incident was avoidable.

The SSU exposed the former Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine for embezzlement of almost 1 billion hryvnias. According to the case file, in 2022, this official, having entered into a conspiracy with his subordinates, made the purchase of low-quality military uniforms from a private company for almost UAH 1 billion.
The investigation established that the military of the Armed Forces cannot use the specified uniform, as it is unsuitable for operation in the cold season in the conditions of conducting intensive combat. This is what decades of rrrZZZian influence in Ukraine has resulted in....

Ukraine also reports that it had deflected more than 4000 cyber attacks so far this year. Meanwhile:

The GUR indicates it has over 800 missiles stockpiled now....which it will begin to use to target heating and electrical infrastructure.

This is what makes it so enraging that Germany is still dithering about supplying Taurus missiles and the US has only supplied ATACMS with 160k range. And Still dithering about air defense systems.

It really does seem as though the west has limited desire to soundly defeat the Kremlin by levelling up.

Military intelligence of Ukraine does not currently record the active movement of "Shahed" UAVs from Iran to russia according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Ukraine.

Tehran has apparently fulfilled the first concluded contracts with Moscow for the supply of ready-made drones...ominously, the RF has started the large-scale production of "Shahed" UAVs in their territory of the Republic of Tatarstan.

UA continues to broaden and hold gains on the left bank of the Dnipro. Controlling both banks will be critical for a UA advance into Kherson and onward to the isthmus at Crimea.

UA also apparently hit the RF position at the end of Kinburn spit, eliminating many mobiks and some boats.

It was my hope that by this time, UA might have control over the western portion of Kherson south if the Dnipro...at least to the canal that used to exist from Nova Khakhova to Crimea. It is only lightly laced with trenches and fortifications and would mean that the potential of attacking across to the right bank would be nil.

Because of the increasing number of russian prisoners of war in Ukraine, a new camp for their detention is being opened, as part of the "I want to live" initiative.

The increase in the number of prisoners of war is the result of the difficult situation at the front, which is worsened by the lack of motivation of rrrXZn soldiers, and because of the blocking of exchanges of prisoners of war by the rrrjjhian side.

Ukraine states that as in the case of the "Zahid-1" camp, the conditions in the new camp will meet all the requirements of the norms of international humanitarian law.

This is always ominous when RF puts its missile carriers out on the Black Sea and we know that they have been stockpiling missiles to attack UA infrastructure. Again...why the west hasn't provided missiles with the range to delete these ships....?????

It was a quieter day with fewer engagements on the frontline...likely an indication of a pause while RF repositions and rebuilds some of their units...

UA is closer to interdicting traffic on M-14 by having it under fire control. This is an important goal to attain. It could be a hard slog through the forested area though...even though there aren't fortifications showing.

Not directly war related, but the EU Commission has indicated that Ukraine has met 90% of the requirements for initiating Accession talks with Ukraine beginning in December.

It is critical that Ukraine is pulled out of the Muscovite orbit and becomes part of Europe and NATO to put an end to the Kremlin's imperial ambitions.

They should be free.

Some gubmint mouthpiece in Russia is saying that Ukranian prisoners of war are swearing allegiance to Russia and fighting on the frontline.

News at 11.

Sure. That would be it. It is amazing that the RT propaganda machine has largely fallen silent over the last 4 months.

This is probably in response to Ukraine announcing they are having to build a new prison camp because of the number of RF captured and deserters.

UA hit the RF base 'Lotus' in Skadovsk yesterday.

And because of the lack of components, rZZia is trying to get back the helicopter engines it previously sold to Belarus, Egypt, Pakistan and Brazil.

Last night, UA claim to have hit two more landing class boats that RF uses to transport troops and equipment. They were loaded, so may have been intended to try to retake Ziminyi Island or reinforce the position on Kinburn.

The two ships are reported as being sunk.

And a sharp loss for RF in order to supply the peninsula.
