We are lucky that Putin has enough sense not to fall for Zelinksy's attempts to provoke a world war. Putin does not want to be the one who blows up the world. I think Zelinsky would love to start WW3.More than anything Putin wants to look strong, as in a strong wartime leader but with the incursion into Kursk and the lack of a response from Putin he looks weak and indecisive. He has rattled his nuclear threat in the past but not when actual foreign troops are fighting in Russian territory which makes the prior threat look like a hollow one.
He has never fought to win, never put all Russian resources into the battle and there must be a reason. Sitting here now I’m beginning to wonder if the reason is he can’t because I believe he wants to. I believe he wanted to squash those soldiers in his territory on day one and then boast about it but he didn’t. He looks flat footed and even if he does eventually respond he missed his chance to appear to be the superior power.
In another country the idea of a coup wouldn’t be out of the question but unlikely here. That invasion is like a Southwest commercial and Putin is the one who wants to get away.
