2. WHY by Annie Lennox

3. THIS TOWN by the Go Go's

4. TRICK OF FATE by Valerie Pinkston

Songs 1 & 2 are for my lost love, #3 is for memories of my youth and #4 is for lost dreams and the places life can take you when you planned on going somewhere else.

Now it's time for some gay disco music... :gogirl: (!) :gogirl: (!)

That's what I was gonna answer, love it :(

STARRY NIGHT by Davey Spillane and Sean Tyrell

One starry night as I lay sleeping
one starry night as I lay in bed
I dreamed I heard wagon wheels a-creakin'
when I awoke my own love had fled

I'll search the highways, I'll search the byways
I'll search the boreens & camping places too
I will enquire all of our people
have they tide or tidings or signs of you

for it's many a mile with you I have travelled
many's the hours with you, love, I've spent
I dreamed you were my love forever
but now I find love you were only lent

I'm drunk today but oft times I'm sober
A constant rover from town to town
when I'm dead and sorrows ended
Molly bawn a storean come and lay me down

Makes me  everytime

Another that brings a lump to my throat is a 1930's song:

THE CURSE OF AN ACHING HEART

You made me think you cared for me
and I believed in you
You told me things you never meant
and made me think them true.

I gambled in the game of life
I played my heart and lost
I am now a wreck upon life's seas
Alone I've paid the cost.

You shattered each and every dream
You fooled me from the start
though you are not true may God bless you
For that's the curse of an aching heart.

You made me what I am today
I hope your satisfied
You dragged and dragged me down
until the soul within me died.

You shattered each and every dream
You fooled me from the start
And though you are not true
I can't stop loving you
For that's the curse of an aching heart

"Gollum's Song" from The Two Towers also makes me feel :(

Komm, Süsser Tod

It's in the last movie of Neon Genesis Evangelion. The song's in English despite the title. It's REALLY depressing.

I know, I know I've let you down
I've been a fool to myself
I thought I could
live for no one else
But not through all the hurt and pain
Its time for me to respect
the ones you love
mean more than anything
So with sadness in my heart
I feel the best thing I could do
is end it all
and leave forever
whats done is done, it feels so bad
what once was happy now is sad
I'll never love again
my world is ending

I wish that I could turn back time
cos now the guilt is all mine
cant live without the trust from the ones you love.
I know we can't forget the past
you cant forget love and pride
because of that its killing me inside

It all returns to nothing, it all comes
tumbling down, tumbling down,
tumbling down,
it all returns to nothing, I just keep
letting me down, letting me down,
letting me down,
in my heart of hearts,
I know that I could never love again
I've lost everything
everything
that matters to me,
matters in this world

I wish that I could turn back time
cos now all the guilt is mine
cant live without
the trust from those you love
I know we can't forget the past
you can't forget love and pride
because of that, its killing me inside

It all returns to nothing, it all comes
tumbling down, tumbling down,
tumbling down
it all returns to nothing, I just keep
letting me down, letting me down,
letting me down
It all returns to nothing, it all comes
tumbling down, tumbling down,
tumbling down
it all returns to nothing, I just keep
letting me down, letting me down,
letting me down...

The song "Christmas Secrets" by Enya. I actually cried when I first heard it. It reminds me about how I still feel about my ex.

Underneath a winter sky,
a distant train sings out the miles.
And so I wonder can it be,
will every mile bring you to me?

A promise made may still come true,
so I am waiting here for you.
If you don't come, what will I do?
Who shall I tell my secrets to?

Those two verses make my eyes water up everytime. Don't know if I'll ever get over him...

I don't know if anyone's already posted it, but I think Radiohead's "Karma Police" is really sad. When the song's bridge hits, my body is covered with goosebumps. It's that good. :D

"Goodbye To Love" by the Carpenters..."I'll say goodbye to love, no one ever cared if I should live or die. Time and time again, the chance for love has passed me by, and all I know of love is how to live without it..."

this song gets my vote for the saddest song ever, it's such a crazy story and the instrumental is the perfect back drop for a song like this...immortal technique "you never know"...the last verse made one of my "gangsta" friends cry...

Car Crash by Courtney Love it is about her pulling her life back together and it always gives me chills.
