Sandals with socks - tacky or cute?

The only time I ever wore socks with sandals is my birkenstocks with wool socks in autumn. My jeans would cover the socks. However, in the summer there is no excuse ESPECIALLY with thongs.
 
I live in my sandals in the Summer. I'll wear shoes to work or when shoes are required, but aside from that, I'm in my sandals.

I like not having to worry with socks and to me it's more comfortable. I don't really care what others think.

I wash them several times a week, so they're always clean and odor free.

When I see someone with socks, it reminds me of how my grandfather would dress in the Summer. Only thing different is he wore dark socks with his.

On my travels I have mostly seen men wearing black socks with brown sandals which is not a good look. The men were European,German or Russian. White socks with sandals look a little more civilised but I tend to think sandals are made to be worn with bare feet.
 
I recall an episode of the "Fresh Prince of Bel-air" where Will Smith had on shorts and a pair of Black socks with sandals...He looked fine..

There's nothing tacky about it in my opinion. I've jumped in my car to go and pick up food or get gas wearing socks and sandals..I don't even think twice about it..

I've seen attractive people with socks and sandals and they pull it off just fine...

Well its not very often that I side with the 'Gun Owners of America', but on this ocassion I will side with their 'right to bear arms'!!! Harsh, I know, but necessary when we're dealing with socks and sandals as a combination! ;)
 
I think it looks completely ridiculous. (Unless of course, the wearer is overweight, wearing a safari suit, and has a greasy comb-over. Then it's fine.)

I feel the same way about guys who wear sandals with socks and guys who wear socks during sex. I hate em both.
