To be fair, she sort of was in the sense that she was completely different--unafraid to say things, even if those things were completely stupid, happy to be unpolished and speak to the lowest common denominator and use it to her advantage. It was a different act. You can call that "fresh."
But she quickly revealed that she was about as ready to tow party lines and scratch the fact-checking as any other politician.
It would have been refreshing if she was willing to call anyone out, but she just ended up being another pundit.
