Apparently, Paul Revere was a traitor. He warned the wrong side.

She probably read the poem thinking it was "fact" where at best is "embellished historical fiction". Why American History still gives so much credit to this guy is beyond me. Even as a fellow Bostonian, I and my AP history teacher at least know that Paul Revere did not ride alone (poor William Dawes and Prescott).

This woman like Bachmann is a disgrace to not only American History but to the United States as well. Why people still support this inbred is beyond me.

Many of us remember the poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow: 'Listen my children and you shall hear
Of the midnight ride of Paul Revere...'

He said to his friend, "If the British march
By land or sea from the town to-night,
Hang a lantern aloft in the belfry arch
Of the North Church tower as a signal light,–
One if by land, and two if by sea;
And I on the opposite shore will be,
Ready to ride and spread the alarm
Through every Middlesex village and farm,
For the country folk to be up and to arm
."

Jesus, gurlfren... if you can't remember the basic message of Paul Revere's ride from a classic poem we were taught as a child, how the living hell do expect us adults to consider you a credible politician/pundit/wannabe president?

She continues to feed the endless parade of 'stupid' jokes, a gift to late night comedians. If this wasn't so sad, it would be funny.

She will come and say she was misquoted by the LIBERAL PRESS. Like Ms. Bachamann they both have limited knowledge of American history.

I always expect some stupid, nonsensical crap to come out of her mouth anyway so no surprise here.

She would embarrass the US on a world scale if she were prez. "Look at the stupid Americans. They elected someone as their leader who fails at grade school American history."

Every time this woman takes a shit she loses IQ points. #-o

Typical Republican. ..|

Good luck on your bus tour Sarah. Keep hogging the cameras. None of the legit candidates will get any publicity with you there. I now suspect you're working to get the President re-elected by acting like this. Thanks.

Are their any rules keeping Obama from making contributions to SarahPAC to keep her media-hog machine going strong?

On behalf of Obama: :gogirl:

Sarah Palin said:
He who warned the British that they weren't going to be taking away our arms by ringing those bells and, um, making sure as he's riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that, uh, we were going to be secure and we were going to be free.

Why is it that much of what Sarah Palin says makes no sense at all?

I don't just mean mangling the facts.

The grammar and structure of her sentences is often so bizarre, it's difficult to figure out even if there is a thought there.

the problem is her supporters celebrate her ignorance,

like somehow, your some "intellectual egghead," if you know basic facts.

and if you try to correct her, your not a "real American."

Totally agree!

Take Glenn Beck for example. Although he is legendary in his selective use of facts that support his wild-eyed/apocalyptic predictions, at least I can follow his hairbrained reasoning. (It helps if you get ahold of his tinfoil decoder hat - it will make the experience all the more mind-blowing... that, and a couple of tokes from a Fatty.)

Sarah Palin / Bachmann / GW Bush, and other know-nothings, are what conservatives love. Why? Because Republicans/conservatives think every problem is easy to solve, because of their black and white thinking. Republicans have the advantage when summing up very large, complex, problems with slogans like; "Drill baby, drill" when solving the world's oil dependency problem. Additionally, given talking heads like Rush Limbaugh & dittohead's usual comments, the average dittohead thinks he/she could be President quite easily. They vote for the candidate they'd like to "sit down and have a beer with".

For conservatives/Republicans, "book learnin" is an anathema. Hence why I consider most conservatives today to be cult members as they refuse to look at scientific fact (much less theory), history, or practical thinking.

Instead of being on a road trip, this gal should be in summer school.

My brother memorized that for a poetry competition -- in fifth grade.

I memorized it later, just because he had.

Palin would probably think Longfellow was the name of a British poet in the sixteenth century.
Or maybe a porn star.

Instead of being on a road trip, this gal should be in summer school.

She'd combine them -- five summer schools, all over the country.

I think Tina Fey does a better Sarah than Sarah

She's scary dumb
