So says Faux News: http://www.thefoxnation.com/haiti-e...iti-earthquake-faster-christmas-bomber?page=1

What really stuns me is the comments people have been leaving the article.

Here are some gems:

Look at the stats, 95 % black, 5 % mulatto/white. He is all for his people. He did not respond when all us white folk were hurting after Ft. Hood. I have a problem writing his name, so I refer to him as the "Missing" link. He and his new dooed wife even had their hands on the wrong side of their chests when they stepped out at the White House for a ceremony on Veterans Day. Must have failed Health class. They are failing this country, actually are trying to break it economically, so they can rebuild their Marxist regime. Am I rambling, you betcha!!!!!!!!!! Making up for lost time, my old computer went belly up.

Gee.... you wonder why? It's his "bros" down there and he doesn't want to take the chance of having a relative stuck under some outhouse. Obama is a fool and worthless as a mule.

This one really shows the lack of basic education the Republicans have

2. Where was Haiti with our natural disasters with millions of their dollars?
:eek::eek::eek:

This other comment basically explains it

I honestly think Fox is a big reason this country is falling apart. It assures ignorant and lazy minded people that their opinion matters--and that facts and reality aren't important.

Aren't they supposed to be you know, Christians???? With love for thy neighbor???:confused:

Bush took six days to respond to the shoe bomber. But really, I'm still pissed Obama hasn't made an official balloon boy statement /sarcasm.

Yeah, I noticed that Bill O'Reilly wasn't very sympathetic at all about the crisis, being more concerned about previous money that was given to the country.

As for the crazies, I wonder how uncaring they'd be if it was their own country that was hit, say San Francisco.

Oh, wait....

Bush couldn't get fresh water and food to Louisiana right here in the country for HOW many days ?

Oy....

Actually, forget I said that. This is a horrible tragedy of unfathomable scope that's happening in Haiti right now.

This is NO time for political bullshit.

This is a time for basic human compassion.

It's so sad that things like this pass for news. I mean how is a hurricane, a natural weather occurrence in another nation, at all even comparable to a terrorist attack? Like how much information gathering and analysis does responding to a hurricane take? 'We're sorry that happened to you. We'll try and get you some financial aid' Of course that analysis is going to be quicker and easier than one to a terror attack.

Can't you picture Rupert Murdoch and his chimps over at Faux news in an editorial meeting everyday trying to figure out how they can spin everything into a hate fest?

What an ugly and corrosive existence.

Ok...As much as I hate to say it...America is too busy helping everyone out. Haiti, Israel, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan...I mean...I do understand helping. But in all honesty...we have too many of our own issues to deal with at home to be helping EVERYONE. Now. If we were not in the middle east...I would be all for a large care package. But now is not the time.
Agreed. We have a number of charitable organizations who are wasting no time with relief efforts. We can't keep our head above water as is, so we have no business fixing someone else's problems.

I'm all for helping Haiti. I'm contributing to it myself, but I say leave it to charity.

I guess Frank Norris says what I'm getting at far better than I can in The Pit when discussing why someone should tend to his own crops instead of tending to those belonging to others:

"One must do one's own hoeing first. That's the foundation of things. A religion that would mean to be 'altogether absorbed' in my neighbour's hoeing would be genuinely pernicious, surely. My row, meanwhile, would lie open to weeds. [. . .]

I am sure one's first duty is to do one's own work. It seems to me that a work accomplished benefits the whole world--the people--pro rata. If we help another at the expense of our work instead of in excess of it, we benefit only the individual, and, pro rata again, rob the people. A little good contributed by everybody to the race is of more, infinitely more, importance than a great deal of good contributed by one individual to another."

We have to face it guys, nut jobs are laying the foundation for the next elections.
They are criticising Obama for continuing his vacation for 3 days after the underwear bomber event, but Bush continued his vacation for 6 days after the shoe bomber event.

Bush took too long on the Katrina disaster, but Obama responded too quickly on the Haiti earthquake?

Those of us who voiced our opinions against the Iraq war were un-american, didn't support our troops, were traitors for criticisng the president during wartime, but the teabaggers are heroes.

We have to get used to the concept of two entirely different yardsticks when it come to prsidential evaluations.

Obama is a moron. Just throw money at Haiti and it will help. Never mind that corruption is rampant there and that the poor never get it. Bill Clinton spent eight years trying to help Haiti , and it's no better off today than it was then.

I think the public is pretty sharp. They realized Bush wasn't working in their financial interest during his second turn, and gave the Dems a shot. They now have a case of buyer's remorse with Obama currently having only 46% support. (You'd have to go back 30 years to find a president that unpopular at this point in their term). Hope and change is all well and good, but people see the Emperor has no clothes, will tax you to death and get us all killed while extending Miranda rights to terrorists.

The number one priority should be accountability. There has to be a "clearing house", an organization whose accountability is beyond question to handle the money. Since corruption is rampant among the government AND police, money given to them would never reach the intended victims. And if the money went DIRECTLY to the intended victims, it would be immediately stolen from them by the thugs that rule the neighborhoods. Any money given these ways is absolutely a waste of money.

Can you imagine how pissed Rox news would have been if Obama did not make statement on the earthquake?

The govt of Haiti is corrupt. Past aid has lined the pockets of the politicians and little has gone to the suffering masses.
But that situation is not unique. For year we have supported malevolent dictators when it has been in our national, strategic or economic interest.
The current situation in Haiti is an enormous and horrible state.
Aid from the US and other countries should be forthcoming, but must be monitored. None to the Haitian govt or economic leaders. It should be funneled through the Red Cross and kindred asssociations direcly to the people who need it. Instead of giving he govt money to build a hospital, the contributors should build the hospital etc.

I was referring to the Shah of Iran, Marcos in the Philippines, some of the Arab, African and Latin American countries.

Right wing media's dangerous game continues to get ever more dangerous.

sorry, qixote, but do you actually believe that crap you post? Let me know when you run out of cliches.

This one really shows the lack of basic education the Republicans have
As a Republican I need to ask...
The people posting these ignorant comments all state:
"That's my comment and I'm a Republican"
?
Blanket statements (such as yours) are blanketly stupid.

The thing to remember with Fox News is that for al the pious, self-righteous bullshit they peddle, they are actually watched by hardly anyone. At most they get a couple of million viewers. Out of a population of 300 million, that's around half of one percent.

And I reckon at least half of the viewers they do get only watch out of sheer incredulity (or they are writers for Stewart / Leno / O'Brien / Maher / The Onion).

As for some of the bile being spewed about Haiti, how pathetic. Obviously to so many people out there, pain, suffering and death only really count when nice, white folks are affected.

What an imbecile statement

Haiti currently HAS NON WORKING GOVERNMENT, HEALTH, POLICE, ANYTHING.... EVERYTHING HAS COME CRASHING DOWN WITH THIS EARTHQUAKE.

The world powers have the moral obligation to step in, and if the US doesn´t do it, then their enemies would surely like to.

Remember Cuba in 1959????

Obama is doing the noble thing.
