Scissor Sisters

Eek.. is that song on the new album?

THat's one of the worst songs Iv'e heard in my life... like five things going on in different keys and slightly out of sync. that's the kind of crap that turned me off of them in the first place.

And that video was done by someone else using iMovie.. it's all clips from other videos.

monkey baby got some fat-ass lips
monkey baby put them on my hips

i gotta be honest...id never heard them before today. 'i dont feel like dancing' brought out some thoughts of suicide. i had to convince myself hey...'i dont feel like killing myself'. sorry...not my thing.

*Sheesh*

With endless clips from QAF, Oz, and Harrison Ford movie in the future whose
name is escaping me at the moment.

'Club-ready' and dreadful at the same time.

was their whole first album that bad?

I only know the two singles... that Ghastly and disrespectful cover of "Comfortably numb" and "Flithy Gorgeous", which is clever but annoying.

Now, now....

It wasn't *that* bad.

Trust me, I grew up in a house where Gilmour and Waters were practically
'Gods', (I'm fairly sure I was conceived while 'Meddle' was playing in the background..... ("and Shamus, that's my dawg..." ;) )

But, none the less, I quivered in horror too when I heard about this cover...

But as it turns out, they pulled it off, IMO. (Plus, that dreamy Anderson Cooper loves it....so, that's the final word on the subject)

I guess the irony of a song about a drug overdose being played to a bunch of tweaking fags dancing was lost on you.

I think it's like wiping your ass with the sheet of Moazrt's Requiem, but then.. I'm a classic rock freak.

Well, of course you're right, Soilwork, I'm really quite the simpleton, and aside
from that we don't get 'irony' down here in the south.

"You're only coming through in waves" and such surely plays to a deaf ear when it comes to 'tweaking fags'.

And, aside from that, I've always found Vivaldi's 'Four Seasons' far more absorbent...what with it's four 'movements' and all....

Why you lash out at the people who actually care about you on this site remains a mystery to me, but it's time to put the collards on to boil, so I have to go....

Soil, their first album was pretty good, some lyrics were clever in some ways. All in all, I like it, but all the songs have this air of melancholy.

I haven't heard their second album, but I Don't Feel Like Dancing didn't impress me outright. If I listen to it more, then I'll see and hopefully the second LP is pretty good.

i thought the first album was hit and miss, a handful of good songs (especially 'comfortably numb' and 'return to Oz'.) but the new one is just terrible, except for 'the other side' which is great, but its the only one. :( shame, i was really hoping the new album would be an improvement on the first.

Meantime, Blade Runner is called 'Blade Runner'. Not 'Harrison Ford movie in the future'. Unless you are instead thinking of Star Wars. Which - in actual fact - is widely known as 'Star Wars'. Then there's Empire Strikes Back, of course...

**wars**

Oh don't get bitchy with me, Ben......

I clearly stated I couldn't think of the name of the film at the time.

And besides, 'Star Wars' isn't set 'in the future', it's a 'long, long time ago.."

So, :p

But isn't that pull apart design just a son of a bitch to open!?

Indeed it is, General.... (Almost ripped it in half...)

But no matter....

IT'S HERE !! In The States at last !!

'Ta-Dah'... Listening to it as I type this. First impression: Very catchy, very '70's disco', of course. The production is *fabulous* with window rattling bass, and a crystal clear high end... (In fact, "I Don't Feel Like Dancin'" sounds completely different played thru the 'big stereo' instead of my tiny puter speakers....But, that's to be expected.) Thanks for the money, Elton... A big quality improvement over their last album.

There is a strangely 'dark' tone that seems to run thru the lyrics, though.
From 'the party's over' to 'I may kill you in your sleep' even 'Dancin', once you see the words on paper, is far from a 'happy song'.

Hmm.

Anyway, the 'deluxe edition' with bonus CD and poster and frustrating but cool packaging is available at Best Buy for only $11.99 thru Saturday.

Get it. (!)

the album is #1 here.

I'm enjoying it.
