Seinfelds Kramer Unleashes Racial Slurs

I never did understand why people found him funny at all. Seinfeld in my opinion wasn't either.

What was he thinking?? I always thought he was a real talent--- but my esteem for him has certainly taken a tumble now!

I thought he was the best thing about Seinfeld...until now. Sounds like he slipped over the edge. Goodnight Kramer.

Personally I've never cared for him or his humor (or lack of...), and now he's like dinner; DONE!

Horrible horrible display..............I must say that I never did watch many Seinfeld episodes......I think the only half dozen or so episodes I have seen were reruns.............

That was just sad. Michael Richards had no business talking like that, and I'm glad the audience did the right thing and walk out on him. As for Jerry Seinfeld having to "convince" Richards to apologize, all I can think is that if a he had to be convinced, then Richards is all the more a sorry sonofabitch.

He was a racist before this. Did you hear the things he was saying?? He not only used the big one(the N word), but to mention "hanging" , and you don't' speak to a "white man" that way. That was wayyyyyyy over the line.

His actions are inexcusable, and if anyone accepts his apology that person is indeed crazy.

WOW> He was totally having a nervoud breakdown. The audience was nervous at first, (Hence the laughter) they didnt know what to think. (Is he kidding... what is this?!) Then he just lost it. Disgusting

I used to know Michael, 25 years ago, when we both worked at The Comedy store. I always got on with him okay, but he was a strange man. One night a close friend of mine got so pissed off by him that he punched him in the jaw. It was a legendary night. My friend was six inches shorter, but Richards just went down when he hit him, and crawled off. He could be a loud-mouthed jerk, but when it came to a physical confrontation, he wimped out. We're talking 1980. Now I feel like calling my old friend and saying "Good call 26 years ago. Hit him again."

Wow, I think we just saw a career end.

I never watched Seinfeld, so it's no loss to me, but . . . DAMN. That was insane.

He's not a racist -- He's a coward. I forgive him (I'm speaking for myself, so don't think all because black tavares from JUB forgave him, the entire black community across America does). I'm disgusted, sickened and angered by his actions, and I completely empathize with the men who received the brunt of his attack (because you don't have to be a shrink to hear the hurt in the dude's voice as he was scrambling to come up with a way to come back at Richards), and I do think that he should receive whatever backlash he has coming to him. But what's done is done, and we can't progress if we refuse to move forward.

I'm horny.

Wow, I heard about it on E! News & was shocked and let down by it, but now after reading all these posts and learning that he didn't stop at the N word and went on to mention hanging & how to speak to a white man, I'm pretty disgusted...I love Seinfeld, great show, but this is just aweful...I'm black & I don't like to hear that word come out of anyone's mouth regardless of race, but least of all someone I used to enjoy..Saying the N word once or twice = aweful, but having a set up built around it & mentioning hangings and so forth, just pathetic & disgraceful

I still love Jerry and "Seinfeld," and think his efforts on Letterman were commendable.

Michael Richards just needs to sit down. It's over. Get a shrink and become a recluse.

I'm not condoning or condemning what he did. But why is it wrong for a comedian to make racial or religious jokes but still OK for them to make gay jokes?

Because that wasn't a racial joke. There's nothing funny about Michael Richards telling a black man that 50 years ago he would've been murdered with a fork up his ass. Just like there's nothing funny if a comedian were to tell a "joke" about tying a gay man to a fence and beating him to death.

A line was crossed, end of story.
