A soft white is fine. I suggest you paint the HVAC register to match the walls. Better not to draw attention to it.

I got my new coffee table, side tables and chair today. Now the flooring. Once I get it on order I’m going to tear out the carpet and paint the trim.

^ Then away with that couchey thing too, and you're almost there.

It does look better now: you have traveled twenty years ahead in just one day. I do hope the new furniture is more paw-proof.

Still not sure about the drapes, but it's your nudity, not ours.

The new side tables are nice. Hide the clutter and you don't have to dust the bottom shelf anymore. New side chair look comfy. It looks like a room where you can kick back with a beer and prop your feet up on the coffee table.
I have all of one table lamp in my house. Your lamps look nice.

He didn't paw-proofed the setting to have to care now about redneck-proofing...

BTW, what kind of person pushes the lamps back to the verge of the side tables?

I do assume folks kicking back with a beer would be leaving their shoes at the door and be wearing socks.

If I went fancy, I'd rather have inlaid lighting, but not the downlight sort :vomit: ; rather, linear recessed... I had to put up with stupid cables because I needed a lamp (that I did not buy THAT expensive  )for the night table of my bedroom (that I am using even less now, because I do not sleep there anymore) more for aesthetic than practical purpose... as far as a lamp can be aesthetic.

But track lights are fine. I want as little fuss and fartsy decoration pretensions as possible... having to thing about dusting or caring about this and that (let alone changing the leds) too often can not make a place "comfortable".

The kind of person that doesn’t want the light blasting you in the face when you’re sitting next to the lamp.
Oh, the kind of person challenged by the choice of the right lighting solution  I see

I'd do white, just not bright white...tone it down a shade or two..
