Is sharing food something you guys do a lot? And when you do, is it generally a pleasant experience, or does it get on your nerves?

Lots of people consider sharing food with a partner a great way to bond and to be intimate with one another.

Some people, on the other hand, are prone to outbursts such as that of Joey from Friends, "JOEY DOESN'T SHARE FOOD!"

Where do you guys stand on the issue? Is it something fun, or does it just make you want to stab the other person with a fork?

Stay away from my plate - get your own food. Nothing skeeves me more than someone putting their already used fork onto my plate to get some food for themselves. I will be more than happy to share it - but I will put the food on another plate and pass it to you.

I'm fine with sharing food as long as it came from a communal plate/bowl so that it hasn't been under other people as they have been eating the rest of their meal.

If someone wants to take a forkful of my dinner after I'm through with it, I don't mind at all. But, like, asking for a swig of my soda or a bite of my burger? No way, no how. Unless we're close enough to swap saliva through other means, I do not under any circumstances share my food or beverage with others.

If I know them. I do it all the time with my friends, unless they are sick. I really don't care.

I don't see how you can put somebody's dick in your mouth but you won't let his fork touch your plate...

I mean... yeah i share food ... whats the big deal with that ?? LOL

The whole point of eating with other people is so you can taste their food. Unless my companion is eating something unspeakably vile, or eating the same thing as me, I want a taste. I'll also give a taste of mine.

If the companion is scared of germs, I'll use a clean utensil to transfer the food from one plate to another, though. No point upsetting the poor thing. But even if the dining companion is not someone with whom I swap spit regularly, I really don't care about germs.

yeah i totally share... there's an inherent intimacy in sharing food... i do it routinely with friends and lovers...

even my best friend is a straight dude and we even feed each other off our forks sometimes. why not? then again, we're unusually close.

although i have a female friend who no likey to share. she practically guards her plate like she was in prison.

yeah same here, I share food with co workers, friends, family... I mean its not that bad at all

im surprised people dont like to share, maybe its cultural but i'd be offended if someone wouldnt want to share food with me LOL

um...is it weird that i could swap fluids with a guy, but be uncomfortable eating after him? yeah--that's kinda fucked up, i guess. i dunno...it makes NO sense, but i'm rarely able to bring myself to eat after someone. even family.

i've got issues!oops!

So do I.

We can't share toothbrushes either, it's fucking disgusting. I'll eat your asshole out til it damn near falls apart but somewhere a line has to be drawn.

THIS is what i love about JUB. there's always someone just a LITTLE more fucked up than i am;)

another point on the original subject. i can pass a blunt back and forth, but CANNOT share a cigarette, unless i'm desperate.

I don't share food from my plate and I don't take food from other's plates. That's one of my pet peeves. I just don't.

Although, when I was little I only ate off of mom's plate, 'cuz mommies didn't have germs.

I'm not to bothered about sharing food.

It only starts to piss me off when the other person ends up eating half of my meal.

doesn't bother me if I am with my good friends, it has to be someone I know really well . I have about 4 friends I do this with.

I don't like to. If someone asks I don't mind. Normally it's common for a mother to finish off her kids plates. One time my sister's mother in law was cooking and I was in the kitchen. She wanted me to try the kielbasa that she was cooking, but she wanted to put a piece into my mouth and that was unusual, but I did not want to be rude.

I would ask a person if I could try something on their plates at times, as I don't like to order foods that I am unfamiliar with.
