  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Shepherd 2, also AKA as Shep+ is leaving.

Im sad by the departure of an understanding JUBer :(

Dont stay away too long :(

Shep, please consider dropping by once in a while and let us know how things are going. I never had the pleasure of personal communication with you, mostly because I just never "got around to it," but anytime I've seen a post from you I've always thought "cool!" and reading your posts has always been rewarding. Though JUB will continue to be a vibrant place even in your absence, it will be a somewhat-less special place without your insights, advice and love.

I hope this coming transition is all that you expect and want it to be, and more.

THANK YOU for giving us a three-day "notice" and a chance for us to actually have a sense of closure after such a loss to this site, though again I hope we haven't heard the last of you. (*8*)

JUBbers,
I am overwhelmed by your kind responses, and I am pleased that you are not trying to argue me into staying. I know this is the best decision, and I will grieve a while in the going, but I must go.

Have a good life Shepherd 2!

You will be missed but a man's gotta do...what a man's gotta do!! :)

Go get them!!

Screwnutty,
I want to true to myself, true too my partner, and true to my coworkers at my new employment. I have had life with many good benefits and events, and I am grateful. This man is doing what he has got to do.

Thanks.

My Fellow JUBbers,

This is my last evening, and I have a few things want to leave with you in parting from here. So should you happen to check this thread out you may or may not find it. I may post these ideas again tomorrow morning in Robbie's Room and Sausy's Place. I have not decided. I am taking things hour by hour now, for it is now the final hours of my JUB life for now.

First, I want to say that my over all reaction and insight about many of our fellow JUBbers is that they hurt by the judgement and disdain showered upon them by Christian people or at least Church people.

Many, in fact too many, have suggested that they really wondered if they were in fact destined for hell. I want to address that clearly tonight and say my peace. About God, he or she or whatever pronoun you care to use is not interested in assigning any of us to hell. In fact the Lord Jesus Christ announced, "I have not come to comdemn the world, but to save the world." It is plain and clear to me that God shows his great power by showing mercy. So when most of us see each other again, it will I believe be in heaven. Now is that surprises any who would like to see us suffer, I am sorry to disappoint them, actually I am delighted to disappoint them.

Nowhere is sex or being gay one of the seven deadly sins for those who believe such stuff. The table of communion with God is for the sinners, especially the sinner who knows when he is wrong and repents.

Finally, I have noticed that many JUBbers when they hurt, then turn and renden pain upon whever is closest to them or in writing or ear shot of their pain. I hope we can learn to be more forgiving of one another. I have often wished we could practice reconciliation here.
Being the first to say I am sorry in life is the strong person. The weak will hold on to anger and spew their venom at whoever gets too close. I hope some can change this. I know I will work on it.

JUB is a wonderful and interesting site, mostly for the find and diverse GLBT community which enters and opens up to one another and shares insight and assurance and encouragement. I like that, and I thank all of you for the many things you have given to me and taught me, I only hope I gave something really important in return.

Thanks,

Shep+

Hail and Farewell!
I am pleased to have been a fellow JUBber,
May you prosper,
May you grow in all ways,
& may you welcome many.
Good bye and take care.

I watched the film Pollyanna the other day Shep. The preacher there was a fire and brimstone put the fear of god into everyon'es heart by the tour de force of his sermons. Pollyanna's father was a preacher, and her opinion was that if you sought the evil in men, you're likely to find it. She also reminded him that there were over 800 glad passages in the Bible, and if God took all that effort in putting in the glad passages, then it ought to be something worth knowing about.

I think you can take some of her advice and see if you can convince your parishoners that there is value in being happy, rather than being harangued by the fire and brimstone each Sunday from a loud voice in the pulpit.

Anyway, take care Shep. You know we love you!! (*8*)

SW,

Your kind words stand here in my response, for you must surely know that the glad and happy preacher is who I am, and is why I am now going back to work out of my retirement.

I am famous for what some in the church have called "having all the wrong friends." After I fought long and hard on civil rights in a mid-western town in the early nineties, I was thrown out, and at least proverbially head first over the wall at high noon. I know what happens when people lose their sense of humor and kindness.

I believe what I wrote just two posts above yours. I have grown several congregations out of good humor and an unconditional love. Today I carry the work forward of GLBT groups and into my community. I do not know how that will be taken, but I will never harangue and bully anyone from the pulpit. I will try to love them into the Kingdom. Thanks for one of the most thoughtful and sensitive posts to any of my threads at JUB. And you know I respect your work already. Love you.

Good luck my Red Sox brother.
Check in once in a while.

Bradlee,

Your kindness to me here goes well beyond the Red Sox, and you know I inherently respect you. I was astonished about the SW stuff, and I am sorry it had you so much upset recently. All I can do is shake my head about that.

Your many pictures of bulges and blue jeans and especially the one you posted for me on a thread, I will always remember and treasure the memory.

So for us, my Red Sox brother,

Go Red Sox!
Wind another ALC pennant,
and another World Series Championship
in 2008!

(*8*)(*8*)(*8*)!oops!
I do love you. I wish I could know you in real life.
Robbieadam of Robbie's Room on F & G will moderate my account for the foreseeable future. One day I may return, but I will know if you PM and I can message Robbie to respond.

THE END

What an hysterical irony, this is the 69th post on this thread. What an honor. 69

Should you get this post on this thread, I am closing it, and you may PM me or watch for my last post on Saturday, January 5, 2008 in the morning.

I am not closing my JUB account, but I am having a friend keep track of it for me. Thanks.

I will miss you, Shep! (*8*) Whatever path life turns and takes you to next, I know is meant to be. All I ask is that you never forget those you've touched here. I hope you have the chance to return occasionally in the future.

Once more for old time's sake.
So that I do not disappoint the people who sent me hate PMs in my time here, you stereotypically wanted me to say,

The END is near!
Repent
and be Saved!

But I, the Shepherd 2, say to you,
Be good
the the household of JUB,
love one another,
and for your sake,
LAUGH

And the last words, "I do expect to see most of you in Heaven, or the next life, and I am expecting it will be no less fun."

A fond farewell to a wonderful presence and influence in JUB. You have no doubt changed some people's very LIVES with your wisdom and insight.

I would actually love to sit in on one of your sermons, someday, if I should be in the area. It probably won't happen, because I don't know exactly where you are, but it would MORE THAN just "do my heart good" to actually, just for once, experience a person-of-the-cloth actually preaching from a place of love. I certainly can't remember ever experiencing this either by watching a TV evangelist, or by personally sitting in at a church.

Star-warrior mentioned more than 800 "glad" passages in The Bible. Haven't I also heard that there are more than ONE THOUSAND passages which address poverty and the disadvantaged? I can skip over entire YEARS without ever hearing any of these passages discussed.

I'm happy that you'll still have some awareness of what's happening in JUB. Yes, we do have an angel watching over us.

With utmost respect...thank you, Harry, and may God always bless.
