  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Should I buy this?

Oh wow, you've given me a great idea! I'm gonna start a toilet paper company that prints the face of George Bush onto every sheet!
Its been done!

BTW, this is a GREAT THREAD!!! :D :D :D

I don't think I've laughed out loud so much at a thread in a long time. trydegrau, you had some great lines. I loved the Walmart one! And then to see poor RL trying to keep his head above water and seeming a little confused at the whole thing was priceless. What a great combination of Jubbers to put together in one thread.

RL, you're a genius! Oh, and get the t-shirt. You can use your disposable income to buy it with. ;)

T-shirt from WalMart? $2.99

Marker pen from the Dollar Store? 99¢

Watching the claws come out? Priceless!

:corn:

hmmm, maybe i should go for the bigger bmw, i dont really need it, but i can get it if i want to.

i think trydegrau is angry that i am thinking of buying a bmw and asked the guys about it. i guess we shouldn't discuss important descisions because it might offend someone in the worlds sensibilities. i stopped coming onto this site for along time because some people were so bitchy that it took the fun away. i get tired of people slamming americans for everything that is wrong with their perception of the world. i was making idle chit chat and can't stand the arguing over something so innocent.

sorry to hijack your post with this rave....so sorry.

I am not angry at you. If you remember your high school english, you'll know that the "s" in threads implies more than one. I am sick of the multitude of threads that cover consumer items, especially when much more important issues barely get covered at all.

if youre tired of it why dont you go take a nap and let people who know how to be civil with one another have some fun. i dont need u correcting anything i say or write. u pompous nit.

Don't you go anywhere this time! This site's main reason for existence is entertainment and I believe that's what the majority wants!

sheesh, talk about being agruementative...who needs that nonsense?

Can I get banned for this, or do I need to be more imaginative?

How imaginative would you like to be? I see nothing wrong with you expressing your opinion, except when you belittle other posters in a feeble attempt to make your point.

GOSH FPNY is argumentative not arguementative - don't you remember your high school English? :p

And yes buy the bigger car! I love when people are materialistic, it gets my rocks off.

;)

totally kidding too btw

i'm over it....im gonna go have a nice hot chocolate and go to bed. maybe i'll dream of my new bmw!! :)

I want to buy $290 Diesel jeans,am I materialistic?

I referred to materialistic threads and societies. You want me to start naming individuals too?
Why are you getting so upset about people buying stuff?

EVERYBODY buys SOMETHING sooner or later....
You're over simplifying the issue.

Again, get some reading skills. I didn't correct anything you wrote, I corrected your interpretation of what I wrote. And I can barely be pompous, English is my second language and I apparently have a better handle on it than you. I don't need you to tell me to take a nap, try fornicating yourself.

I personally have not seen a "multitude" of threads covering only consumer items. And anyway, what's wrong with that? There are a host of topics here at JUB and from what I can tell, many of the 'serious' topics get discussed appropriately in length. People tend to migrate to whatever appeals to them. It doesn't necessarily mean they're avoiding the more "serious" of subjects. Just because we don't always reply to the more "important" issues, it doesn't mean they don't make us think. Sometimes we don't always know what to say, especially if that issue doesn't affect us directly.

And besides, sometimes we need diversions from the harsh realities of life.

Well I've counted quite a few concerning cars and other junk. People can spend their money on whatever the fuck they want really. I just think it's sad that buying shit has become a highlight for so many people. I think it's sad that more important things get bumped off the page for these threads, and I think it's particularly sad that people can't make up their own minds without consulting the internet for a globally concerted opinion.

Consumerism and hardcore consumers are just sad in general.
