It worked for Britney Spears!

Seriously though, if it's your dream, go for it. Just be realistic and be honest with yourself. When it comes to something like this, it's often best to leave your friends out of the decision-making process and get input from total strangers who happen to know something about your chosen field. In other words, don't let your friends blow smoke up your skirt. If you're going to do that, you should go into politics.

record music yourself, at home.

I have a dream to learn about synthesizers and shit.

I also have a dream to ride motorcycles.

They might become realities. :)

you should never give up on your dreams....always follow them. :)

Remember: "A dream exists until reality tells you otherwise!"

So, why NOT just give it a try and see where it leads you....

BTW, I suggest you do NOT give up your day job; but hang onto it while you explore your creativity side to see if you can make it!

Hey, you might wake up one day and say, Damn, I think I could have made it, why in the hell didn't I just give it a try to see where it would lead me?

Now, you don't want to be that guy, do ya?

Good luck and when you become a BIG guy, will you still remember us little folk? lol(*8*)(*8*):kiss:

Put a demo on YouTube and post it here.

I can't speak for anyone else but I'll give you an honest assessment.

Having dreams is important, but they're only ideas. Passion is the fuel.

Give your dreams free reign in your mind, but don't follow them. Follow your bliss.

Look at all the bands out there that just try to pick up a few bucks on weekends and some are pretty good but they still have trouble getting gigs. But their chances of making it are slim indeed. I don't know the percentage but it is tiny.. Mean time pursue the dream at open mic night, community drama club, etc. Just don't quit your day job. If you don't have what it takes, some one will tell you.

A word about dreams: you have to have them, and it's good to follow them, but don't expect them to come true.

In your dream, are you singing because you love to sing, or do you just want to be famous? If the latter, I say keep dreaming, because you can't control whether or not you become famous. But if you love to sing, I say go for it.

Since you didn't mention writing songs, I'll assume that you can sing whatever is put in front of you; in that case, join an existing party band. My cousin is a singer, too, and she and her husband belong to a band that plays at festivals and parties and what-not, and she loves it. It's all repertory, they have a book of songs they know and the host can choose a playlist. They're like a living breathing jukebox.

But all of them have day-jobs. The band is what they love to do, and though they do get paid, they are doing it for the joy of making music, not for the money or fame.

Other than that, I think you should keep your eyes open. Go see small bands in your area, and talk to them after the show about how they got started. Make a demo disk since you have access to the equipment and play it for them if they'll allow you to.

The thing about making dreams come true is that they're a lot of footwork.

you go for it

at least you tried right

damn if you make it
i'll buy the cd

Mate, keep working at what you're at now, but record a load of stuff in your spare time. Stick it on myspace, work on advertising (cunning ideas are your best bet, an entrepreneurial spirit will get you everywhere) and see what happens.

just a thought
it's about 3:15 pm

should you not be in some sort of school
maybe university

i hit the lottery
a drunk driver killed my life
and who i was

TBI i am

i'll never work again

The film: "Modern Times" = Charles Chaplin

The Song: "Smile"

Smile
tho'
your heart is aching,
Smile
Even though it's breaking,
When there are clouds in the sky- You'll get by,
If you
Smile through your fear and sorrow,
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through- For you.
Light up your face with gladness,
Hide ev'ry trace of sadness,
Altho' a tear may be ever so near,
That's the time you must keep on trying,
Smile- What's the use of crying,
You'll find that life is still worthwhile,
If you just smile.

this would be a great song for you to record.

lol thanks ill look it up but why?I mean why me? lol

tis just a loverly old song, that i think would give you a fine chance to show off your voice in a special way.

tis a very sensitive song, and you seem like a most sensitive young adult.

if you could fine a version of it by Nat King Cole i think that would give you an idea of why i suggested that song.

tis none of this contemporary c***p masquerading as so called music.:grrr::grrr:
i went to your my space, tis quite creative. a bit over powering but it looks like you get a lot of responses to it. and your you tubes were quite interesting.:=D:
