Those long rainbow stripes for the back of my car?

Well, I was just watching the Suze Orman show.

http://www.suzeorman.com/

She would first want to know if you can afford it. ;)

If you don't have to go into debt and have the cash to pay for it, go ahead! ..|

It is the first time that I have watched her show. I have to say that I'm a little embarassed when so many people call in that are younger than me and say that they have $500k in retirement savings already. Oh boy....I'm sure behind....but I guess part of that is because there are 2 of them saving and only one of me.

No. But then again I'm not really into the whole rainbow thing. I don't have an issue with being a homo but I have no desire to jump up and down pointing out the fact.

It's similar to political bumper stickers which I also abhor. I don't want to allow people to use my sexuality or affiliations as a first impression.

If I was going to buy a rainbow for my car I'd then have to cover my car in bumper stickers to represent everything I am.

I got a Big 3500 diesel pickup with a large stripe across the full width of the tail gate. PRIDE !!!

I'd rather not have some stupid redneck cowardly key or dent my car when it's parked unattended somewhere outside of the city, but that's just me.

There are way too many people here that are living in fear. So many people have those on their cars and never have a problem. You guys way over exagerate the risk. I think that it is healthy and a good thing for people to see openly gay people. It should not be discouraged. Your only harming the gay community as a whole by doing so.

99.9% of straight people won't even know what it means, unless they're already gay-friendly.

They'll just think it a colorful sticker.

On the other hand some really hot gay men may notice it and you could have some good times.

(This actually happened to me when the "lamda" bumper sticker was popular with gays a few decades ago. I also got a lot of friendly waves from lesbians.)

Don't let the naysayers scare you. Go for it.

Yeah well when it's your car and you pay the insurance then you can decide what bumper sticker goes on there. Until then...I'll keep making the decisions as to what goes on my car.

And for the record I'm a little sick of being judged by people on here for making my own decisions about who I do and don't feel needs to know that I'm gay. THEY don't have to live with whatever consequences come from these decisions...I do. So just back off already.

I pay for my own car and insurance and have gay related bumper stickers (especially during the prop 8 election) on my car and have never had an issue with it. I have friends that have had them for years and they have never had a problem.

I'm not telling you what to do. This thread is not about you. You are not the one that created this thread. I'm not telling people to put them on their cars. But I'm not telling people to not put them on their cars either. That is of course for each individual to decide. I do think that the more open respectable gay people are with their lives the better off the gay community and society as a whole will be.

i had one on my car and i thought it was fucking great!!!

so, trust me, you'll LOVE it

go for it!

[off topic]

of course i say that now; but let's see if i have the balls to put a miniature version of it on my motorcycle when i buy/ride it. :p

i have one that has "pride" in rainbow, and on either side it has tribal art. but it faded, so now it doesnt look so cool... i just haven't been back down to the beach where i got that one to get a different one.

on my old car, i had a strip like that that was holographic.

i would go for it. i dont really have any problems with my car getting damaged

oh god i know this going to make me sound like a bad gay but is the Delta Flag a gay symbol. this mo don't know

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_Rights_Campaign

The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) is the largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) lobbying group and political action committee in the United States, claiming over 725,000 members and supporters,[1] though this membership count is disputed.[2][3] The HRC mission statement is "HRC envisions an America where gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people are ensured equality and embraced as full members of the American family at home, at work and in every community."[4]

the guy who made the rainbow thing wanted a flag to represent that all stripes and colors of the human beings across the planet have gay people in it; and that those gay people are united to a common cause of equality.
