Thanks very much Noelie (*8*), I owe you one :p

Btw, so far so good, I'm enjoying Vista much more than XP tho I still can't get used to the Windows Explorer and the way stuff is organized...

Yeah that's a good idea, but maybe I'll do the fresh install later cuz it seems my webcam is not compatible with vista, i can't find any drivers for it and I'll need xp when skypeing with my brother who lives across the ocean...

Loves vista tho, works flawlessly and is pretty intelligent, I turned that user accounts thing off so it's not annoying... I love the way it detects your new hardware and looks for a driver and installs... XP was a pain in the ass there...

No problem Noelie :) I'll just switch to xp when I needa use the cam.

I've installed those drivers but it won't work, the application doesn't show my cam at all, I tried to manually assign those drivers to my webcam (which Vista sees, but can't find drivers for it) but when i try to assign the driver vista tells me "The required section was not found in the inf"...

Thanks again for all the help (*8*)

if you don't have any problems with xp, why the change.

keep using it until there is a particular software can't run on xp or have problems with xp.

He likes Vista more, and just explained why. Why stay with XP? It is outdated and dead.

Okay, I'll mention a few things from my experience so far with vista and compare to xp.

So, I installed XP first because I was familiar with it and wanted to get all my most important thing set-up fast. That were my i-net access and a few programs I use on a daily basis.

XP was running okay , a few minor bugs here and there (missing icons, removable storage notification even when there's nothing connected to USB ports, mouse won't switch off on shut down and a couple of times, explore.exe would just quit and then start again thus killing all my running windows. That was annoying. Also it wasn't very good at recognizing my phone.

With vista, the only issue so far, is my web-cam incompatibility but it's from the manufacturer, not vista itself, the webcam wasn't made for vista and i forgot to check before installing...

Everything else works great, the OS is VERY intuitive, very smart and so far it looks reliable. I'm still getting used to the explorer it's quite different than XP...

So if anyone wants to make a switch to Vista, I'd recommend to check your hardware compatibility first , there are tools for that u can use. I'd also recommend to keep XP at least for a while and dual-boot. Just install Vista on another partition, like I did, in case anything goes wrong, u can always switch.

To sum this up:
satisfaction rate with XP (1-10) : 7
satisfaction rate with Vista (so far): 8.5

Vista is newer than xp.

it should backward compatible to ALL hardwares and softwares. why don't they do that i wonder.
