Should we be forced to acquire a license to have children?

Was reading (Yes I read) on another website and was scrolling around minding my own business to find this topic.

This would involve at birth every baby be temporarily castrated. Then, later in life they must go through certain tests to be allowed to procreate.

I get the whole point but this is basically free birth control. We don't need anymore teenagers having sex getting Hep C

However, I do believe something like this is necessary.

Perhaps even a penalty. If you have a kid... 20 lashes and an hours worth of waterboarding..... Who's here for that?

Sis, I was actually talking to one of my friends earlier today about putting restrictions on childbirth. :dead:

On top of getting a handle on overpopulation, imagine how much more sucker free the world would be if the population were cut in half. I would propose a max limit of three children per household, but then I remembered that my dad was the youngest of four and I wouldn't be here . . .

the 20 lashes and only an hour of waterboarding seems rather tame.

Dead @ everything

Yes! I knew someone would be here for it!

Temporarily castrated? How does this even work?
The idea of babies being castrated seems rather macabre imo. It also seems to meddle with people's freedom, which I'm sure many would bitch about - understandable. And yeah, i agree that it seems like kids would just fuck around more since the "danger" of pregnancy is out ruled.
I don't see it happening, tbh.

The word "Castration" alone scares the shit out of me.

Seriously, don't drag me for this, but will you be re-assigned the same penis that was castrated at child birth? And if so, will it be the same size?

:dead: I was actually wondering what type of castration would be involved.

This is just a mess.

Castration involves the testicles.
You get to choose which ones you want reattached.

Oh, lol. But then where will the kids get testosterone? I mean, I guess they could be given supplements.

The whole thing sounds very messy, tbh. We aren't ready.

The supplements will only be given, if they have tits.

I'm not in favor of it. I understand the reasoning behind it but limiting the reproductive rights of citizens goes way beyond the rights any government should have in my view. I am capable of making my own decisions and if I wanted children (and weren't homosexual) I would do so when the time was right for me. I get that there are tons of bad parents out there and people abusing social service systems as a way of getting paychecks without working but I don't think something like this is right. It just raises too many alarms for me.

I do, however, think parenting classes should be mandatory and maybe hospitals could give a portion off of their bills if potential parents do take these classes. Also, I never had to take care of a doll or egg at school but I know many friends that did.

Those ratchet ass dolls.

I thought I was gonna get an A on that assignment because my doll didn't cry once, then when my teacher read the data, she said it cried all night and I slept through it.

I definitely agree there should be licenses.

Welfare-cheating morons are on Judge Judy every day demonstrating they have no capacity to organise their own lives yet they go around making more.

But the licensing should to controlled by sensible, well-balanced people like G-Lexington or Quasar.

It is not a given that bad parents will produce bad children.
If anyone couple was not parent material, it was my parents, but I'm glad I am here, nonetheless.

I wish there was a limit of two kids per family and you can't have kids until your 25 with a decent job.

If only!

I mean, if we're doing this for the purpose of curtailing our populations in an effort to reduce the effects of our species on the planet, wouldn't it be better to just get rid of some of the people that are currently on it?

That way we don't have to worry about issuing licenses or educating people towards successful parenthood. There wouldn't be a need to improve what we have going now because the problems would've been solved.

I've been saying this for years. People really should not be allowed to have children unless they get a license. My way would be unless you meet certain standards (economic, health, employment, etc) you'd face certain penalties (fines, welfare reduction, child taken away, jailtime, etc).

I know this is going to be hugely unpopular, my saying this, but so many people here locally have a brood of kids and do nothing but live off of welfare. It's all I ever see in the grocery store, and my own cousin is planning on living off of welfare when her baby arrives. She got preggers just cuz she really wanted a baby, ignoring the fact she was in med school and now cannot finish, or the fact the guy that impregnated her is jobless, had no impact at all on her.
