Let's put all the children born without a parental license in cages. I want to feed one from the palm of my hand.

I still vote for penalties. (Don't ask me how/when/context)
i feel that it's out of place for people to decide that other people shouldn't have babies or not. that's just foul. to me, that is no different than telling someone that they can't get married because they're gay, telling someone that they can't sit in the front of the bus because they're black, and etc. people should be entitled to their civil and natural rights and having kids is one of them regardless of who the sperm or the egg comes from. just because a parent is fucked up doesn't mean that their kids will suffer the same fate. then we go into the whole idea of parenting and etc which is a whole different issue altogether. hell, there's many people that come from screwed up households that come out to be productive citizens and many people that come from a two parent, love filled household that come out to be billy bad asses and fuck ups. the parents have a part to do with it and then it's the individual.

Isn't having the kids penalty enough?![]()

I completely agree that to do it as a judgement on people would be horrible, but if the point was to make sure people were QUALIFIED to raise children before they raised children? I don't see the harm in it, assuming we had better sterilization techniques than we do now.
Of course, it won't happen because there'd be too much of an outcry from religious fundamentalists over losing their favorite stick with which to hit sexuality.
I don't know about the US or other countries, but here in the UK there is a vetting procedure that couples who want to adopt have to go through before they're allowed to. Surely that could be a starting point? I'm not sure how you'd go about policing those couples who decide to have a child without going through a vetting procedure though....how do you measure how qualified someone is before they raise a child?...
