I was about to say "we don't put ours up until the first of December."

And then I realized IT IS the first of December.

Jesus Christ.

It isn't up yet, but it will look very-much like it did last year:

This is our tree from 2011. It's an artificial so, like Neil, it will look a lot like this again this year - assuming we get our collective arses in gear and get it up.

I dont bother with a tree.
I was on the way to the store and saw my neighbours roof (with Santa on it). He has a big display and it affects the traffic because people are turning left to go see his decorations

Here's a pic that's a shout out to Sir Ron and Mr. Rochester.

I made more than a few trips to Midtown Mall back in the day. In 1964 it was the largest enclosed shopping mall in the country.
We were a trend setter.

The Clock of the Nations opened once an hour and the cells had animated activities.
The Monorail was only up for the Christmas Season.

Midtown was razed few years ago for urban renewal - and Windstream's new Rochester offices (the company they bought was going to build there). Hopefully it will still happen.

The Clock of the Nations was saved and is at the Airport so, if you ever have need of flying into Rochester, look for it - it's a piece of history.

Wow...that monorail looks a little small to get into or is for kids?

I rode that monorail train as a kid! What sweet memories. I loved going to Midtown at Christmas!
And everyone knew that the real Santa Claus was actually across the street, at Sibley's gargantuan downtown store (the largest department store between New York and Chicago!). I loved the Magic Mountain at Midtown, and Santa's Magic Corridor at Sibley's. I even still have the coloring books from my visits with Santa! (never colored in them, but kept them as souvenirs!) :D

We're not supposed to have X-mas displays yet.

Here's the Eve of St. Nicholas decoration from the De Bijenkorf department store from three years ago...
(they're supposed to have the same puppets this year).

ACK! 'Tis, indeed, that time of year AGAIN!

I ventured into the frigid cold of the attic, rummaged around 'til I found "The Tree", and ornaments, wrestled it all downstairs, and laboriously put it all up! \:/ #-o

I've attached a pic of the results of all my Efforts. And, I hope that YOU will also continue to share whatever it is you might do to "spiff up" for the Season, too! ..|

Just more reasons to ... No Matter What ...

Keep Smilin'!! (*8*)
Chaz :luv:

Is that one of the Charlie Brown Trees I saw at Wegman's?!

And, yes, CGYMike, that monorail was STRICTLY for kids.

Sir Ron, I'm sure you had more Christmases at Midtown than I did, since I moved at age 4 not to return until 12.

Still have fond memories - including with my older kids - that was a real mind blower - sharing the memories you had as a child with your own . . .

Okay. I wasn't paying attention to what forum this thread was in. I thought "Show us your tree" was a euphemism for something else.

Cool idea :)
One of my trees is a black one...no decorations though, I only put lights on it this year

the first tree I've put up in 10 years. Someone has me feeling the Christmas spirit this year ;)
