Well, since I do a lot of cooking (even though I am a solo act now) I always keep a can of breadcrumbs in my pantry, because they are a cooking staple.

I use them in meatloaf, and also put them into my hamburger patties, (along with grated cheese, chopped fresh onion, salt, pepper, egg, and a dash of milk).

I also buy the thinly sliced beef cutlets, and bread them, then freeze them in packages of four cutlets each. They can be taken from the freezer, defrosted in minutes, and cooked fairly quickly. I also love breaded pork chops, eggplant parmagiano.

With your leftover loaf of bread, it should go fairly quickly for breakfast. Make poached eggs over toast. Or make french toast (it's an easy "luxury" breakfast).

I don't know how old your nephew is, but one thing I used to love, when I was a kid, was when my Mom made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, then cut them out with her larger cookie cutters. We had "shape" sandwiches!

.69 per loaf? Not a bad deal.......
