i am planning on making a meatloaf for my nephew & me this week, so i was looking at bread crumbs & the cheapest was $1.99 & it was so big it would have lasted me until my newborn great nephew dies, so i bought a small loaf of bread (.69 cents)to make breadcrumbs, now what do i do with all this bread??](*,)

Well that's pretty morbid. Is he sick or something? :(

You must be kidding, bread is a staple. I go through a loaf of whole wheat once a week.

Just make toast for breakfast the next couple of mornings. Better yet, make french toast with it for your Sunday morning breakfast.

1st the bread thing, Freeze it for dread crumbs latter.
Now I'm off to solve the problems of the middle east.

Fresh bread crumbs are better anyway. I just use the food processor to make them. I always make more than I need and freeze the rest.

If you're making the meatloaf in a loaf pan, put 2 slices underneath and it will absorb the grease from the meat as it cooks.

If you don't use bread fast enough before it molds, then keep the loaf in the refrigerator.

Well, since I do a lot of cooking (even though I am a solo act now) I always keep a can of breadcrumbs in my pantry, because they are a cooking staple.

I use them in meatloaf, and also put them into my hamburger patties, (along with grated cheese, chopped fresh onion, salt, pepper, egg, and a dash of milk).

I also buy the thinly sliced beef cutlets, and bread them, then freeze them in packages of four cutlets each. They can be taken from the freezer, defrosted in minutes, and cooked fairly quickly. I also love breaded pork chops, eggplant parmagiano.

With your leftover loaf of bread, it should go fairly quickly for breakfast. Make poached eggs over toast. Or make french toast (it's an easy "luxury" breakfast).

I don't know how old your nephew is, but one thing I used to love, when I was a kid, was when my Mom made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, then cut them out with her larger cookie cutters. We had "shape" sandwiches!

.69 per loaf? Not a bad deal.......:D
