Simon Cowell is an asshole.

Re: Simon Cowell Comments On Taylor Hicks. Ouch.

simon cowell thinks Il Divo is enjoyable.

Why is it that he's successful again?

Re: Simon Cowell Comments On Taylor Hicks. Ouch.

I am from Alabama(Taylor's Native state)and I must say that other than his song 'Do I make You proud'I've heard very little if any of him.I've been saying that the true winners were Chris Daughtry and Katherine McPhee for a while and I was quite impressed with the singles 'It's not over' and was very very impressed at Katherine's rendition of 'Somewhere over the Rainbow'.

At any rate Simon was well within his rights to express his opinion.

Re: Simon Cowell Comments On Taylor Hicks. Ouch.

Oh my! Simon gave his own opinion, that is just not acceptable.

Last year it was the Beatles, this year, so far, it's been Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen.

Yes, this is the music that Simon dislikes.

Maybe because their music is always relevant, or that they have artistic integrity?

Another possible reason is jealously (he doesn't have a fraction of the talent of any of the above.) In fact, Simple Simon can't sing, has never written a song in his life and can't play an instrument.

He boasts "I've sold 100 million records". Funny that, I can't find him listed on the RIAA website. Nor can I find his section in any music shop. Hmm.

What is he good at? Signing people to a record label and sitting at a desk watching karaoke singers every week. Big fucking deal.

I'd go as far as to say that he is everything wrong with the music industry at the moment.

Rant over.

Yes, but he is a success within the environment that makes him a pile of money.

This can only be done as a result of many people approving of his "approach".

Bad manners and bad taste, does sell air time. It is more a judgement on the television viewer, than on this blasphemer of the air waves.

I recently read an interview with him in Playboy magazine and I don't really think he's that bad actually!!

He isn't that bad of a person, he just seems like an ass on television, and you have to remember that he is british, they seem kind of stuck up by nature(no offense). And like him or not, he knows what he is talking about and he knows what kind of musicians the majority of the public wants and he knows whats hot and whats not. Every time I watch AI I always agree with him because he is right!

I love everything about Simon and generally agree with what he says. I don't think he's an asshole at all, and I've never understood Dylan's popularity either. He's a horrendous singer with boring music!!

i've pieces of cardboard with more personality than this dude. But he's gotta be doing something right with what he's got going on.

Simon Cowell is doing his job. If you sing good and he thinks you could handle it then he allows them to continue. If not you get booed and your dreams crushed. I would do the same. It's funny how someone can hate someone who has hurt only feelings but Bush still gets loved.

Simon is very upfront about ALL of his motives and why he does and says what he does. I personally find that very refreshing.

HE sold all those records? You mean the people singing/playing/composing on those records had nothing to do with the sales?

i find it funny that he would say he sold all those records. i dont doubt he had something to do with getting the artist signed...but come on.

I dont like him. To me when hes judging idol it seems he judges them on if he personally likes them. Especially when hes judging idol he does need to judge someones clothes or the way they look. it should be on their voice and thats it. And I hate they way he makes fun of people right there in front of them and when they leave the room. Its a singing show, not a best dressed show. Paula and Randy have said at times been honest and saying they in particular dont like a certain person but they see where others will like them and they let them through.

But then again he was the mastermind behind the Spice Girls and Westlife. Two extremely popular groups.

He's the main event of the highest rated series on TV. He's in the entertainment business. A lot -- if not ALL -- of the people I know who watch AI name Simon Cowell as the best part of the show. You're talking about him, so that's just further proof that he's doing his job. Just like an editorial in your local newspaper, they're meant to incur a reaction and that's exactly what he's doing.

For better or worse Randy Jackson is supposed to be the "in the middle" judge, Paula Abdul as the "positive" judge, and Simon Cowell as the "negative" judge.

As far as his comments on the Beatles, Dylan and Springsteen... I do respect all of them, and like songs that they've recorded to varying extents, but I will say I find ALL of them to be brutally over-rated.

Regarding him not being able to play an instrument, that is COMPLETELY false. He is on record as successfully playing the triangle... for which he collects royalties every time Spice Girls' "Wannanbe" is played ;-)

He's right though, The Beatles sucked, Bob Dylan sucks and I'm sorry but Bruce Springsteen can kiss my ass, because he's only good live.

THANK YOU!!!! I've been saying it for years. And add the damned Beach Boys to that list. And James Brown while Im at it. And Johnny Cash. And I cant stand Elvis. Probably no one else agrees with me, but these artists are SO overrated!!

I like Simon. He seems like a nice guy, and he's very honest--which is rare in the entertainment business where in public everyone kisses everyone's ass but behind closed doors they say what they really feel about them.
