Re: Simon Cowell Quits 'American Idol'
So, after Carrie won then?
People as young as 16 can enter the X factor and it goes up - you get some really terrible auditions and I always skip this part.
Also Susan Boyle wasn't from X Factor she's Britain's Got Talent.
We have never had a group win it and we haven't had an Over win since Steve Brookstein X Factor 1.
The difference between X Factor and Idol is that each judge has a category and they pick the songs for them, then, after the voting it's whittled down to two and the judges choose who to stay and who to go.
I also think Simon is using X Factor to help promote Cheryl Cole. He's a huge fan of hers.
Oh well. American Idol became irrelevant anyhow after Season 4, it's best Simon does jump ship before it completely sinks underwater.

It's a money move. He'll make more money since he doesn't have to split profits with the Idol creator, Simon Fuller.
Plus...The X-Factor isn't a Susan Boyle show. It's also for young people.
Also, The X-Factor runs...if I recall correctly, during the later half of the calendar year. It's not really contending with American Idol.
