Well, I was married and the kids are about to graduate from college. My son is getting married July 25 (he just told me). My daughter is probably not far behind.
I just met a terrific guy -- Barry is 26 -- and we are settling down. Neither of us wants more children; I told him he can help me with the grandkids someday! lol!

was with one guy for over 25 years and with Lalo for just under 14 years. if it happens again, i won't resist at all, but the happening is something that i have never been able to explain. it can be very nice to be with someone with whom you are comfortable - and that is not easy and takes time to happen

If I was born a girl, I would want to get marry and have 1-2 kids by now. But it didn't happen, and my kids are not going to be born. I don't want to be like the rest of the world, full of baby dumping idiots. If I cannot provide the time and income to a child, I will not adopt one. Rather die alone than hear the sentence "you weren't there for me" and know that it was my fault.

I guess I have the best of both worlds. I have grown kids and I am divorced, so that makes me single with kids. The only grandson I have is a 8 yo choc lab. but he's cute.

Judging by some comments I've been getting, I should rephrase this.
My beef was actually how the original question was written. To wit: "Single AND LIVING (or was it LOVING?) LIFE, or married with children?" The implication there is that, being single, you can live (or love) life, but by getting married, you're no longer living/loving life. So I just pushed it further, in a sort of "Geez, why didn't you just phrase it THIS way while you we are it" sort of way.
I most certainly do NOT think having kids and/or settling down is a bad idea - not for me or anyone. I myself have settled down. (Not that I was that unsettled to start with.) I don't have kids, and personally don't have any interest in having them, ever. I don't have the parent gene in me, and personally don't do well with kids, so I'm gonna remain childless.
