"Slay the idolaters wherever you find them...."

How many of you honestly have read both the bible and the Quran cover to cover, as you would with any other piece of fictional material? There are so many inaccuracies in both to deem them nothing more than trash, and their only merit is as fire kindling. Get real! The Abrahamic violence of all 3 religions is despicable.

^ I avoid the obsessive focus on the violent bits (I view Westerns, and Kung fu films to vent my frustrations) of scripture, preferring the following recommendations. I appreciate that the control freak will want to see, what they want to see to satisfy their prejudices.:

Matthew 7:12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

Matthew 22:39 And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbour as yourself.'

John 13:34 "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

So that's a "no", you have not read either cover to cover. Thanks for admitting such. While I have not read the Torah cover to cover, but various pieces of it, I have read the bible twice, and the quran once, hence my condemnation of all 3 equally. One Abrahamic tribal man casting aspersions on another Abrahamic tribal religion is sheer hypocrisy.

It wasn't a "no", it was a dismissive comment due to the ignorance you displayed.

Your show your ignorance or you lie about what you've read.

You said you had not read the Torah but, had read the Bilble and Quran.

The Torah is the first 5 book of the Old Testament.

I think you have certain beliefs and will say almost anything to back those up.

The New Testament is what Christians reply on for their faith. It is full of love and forgiveness and shows the way to eternal salvation. I suggest you read it a third time and I pray that God opens your eyes as you do.

Excuse me, I meant the Talmud, not the Torah. Judaism has too many "T"s for their canon; Torah, Talmud, Tanakh, my bad.

My own personal beliefs have nothing to do with my posts on this thread. I have linked experts in their field comparing / contrasting the violence of the Quran to the Bible. There is so much nonsense in the Bible most so-called "christians" have no idea what the hell is in their "holy" book.

Learn to focus on the quality, and leave the quantity to those with an agenda determined to prove to the world how perfectly accurately they are when counting on their prejudices to expose their focus on the violent bits.

That's perfectly acceptable. However, one cannot dismiss their own "Bible's" violence, while condemning another book's violence, and thus its commentary on its believers. As nearly every American born Muslim would attest, they too "pick and choose" which holy verses to abide by, and which to toss asunder as "outdated", just as you have stated.

Christians are no different than Muslims, and vice-versa. ..|

The Bible does not promote violence -- in fact except for self defense it forbids it.

The Q'uran prescribes violence.

I know you've spent a lot of time Googling your way to this conclusion, but my Wikitafsir says otherwise. So does my practical experience living amongst Muslims. You are a fake expert.

You are merely saying, my religion is good and theirs is bad, nah nah nah.

Next time you attempt to refute someone's characterization of christianity because they don't read Greek (which you do all the time) I'll be glad to remind you how willing you are to characterize Islam without reading Arabic.

Try reading the thread before bumbling in like this.

BTW, I'm working on Arabic. I'm having to get new glasses, because all those swirls and things blur for me. Meanwhile, I'm plodding through the Q'uran in English.

I eagerly await your inevitable mastery of Sanskrit.

I'm not up for two languages at once. Nor am I aware of any real need to learn Sanscrit; I didn't know there were any teachings advanced by Hindus which might pose a threat to Western civilization.

Remind me in about eight years, when I might feel comfortable with Arabic. And have a pressing reason why I should learn it.

I agree whole heartedly that all three religions are evil and I have read the Bible and the Quran. However why is it that Liberals who have no problem denouncing Christianity have a need to defend Islam and the barbaric religion that it is. You even have stupid gays on this forum saying that if the majority in Libya wants a theocracy they should have it. To these gays I would say if the majority in your countries wanted a Christian Theocracy should they get it? Since the majority in America is against gay rights and gay marriage should those things be outlawed. At one point in history the majority was for slavery, does that mean that this should have been allowed?

The answer to all of these is no. The majority does not have the right to be tyrants.

Except the outdated ones to the Muslims are the peaceful verses and the current ones are the violent ones.

Plus as a Pagan I know that as bad as Christianity is Islam is far worse in scope. It takes all the bad parts of Christianity and Judaism and creates something far worse.
