Breaking News Snowmageddon 2017

So you have four cats too? Do you have any upholstered furniture that is still intact?

:rotflmao:

We have always gone with the Maxim...you can have cats or you can have furniture.

But frankly, our furniture has never shown us any love at all.

And we went early with the English country house slipcover approach.

Although we also have an incredible 12 foot long 1850's mahogany table that our cat Emma skated the length of, playing in the table cloth before it was set for dinner just after we got it.Good thing we love her a lot.

A NJ weather blogger a friend follows has us on the 20-28 inch map...i ran out to get more wine and vodka....i also set a fire for tomorrow and stacked a YUGE pile of wood...we have a generator (thanks to Ricks very generous mom) so we will survive....God Speed nor easterners!

I drove home through the Niagara peninsula this evening and it was chaos. took me nearly four hours for a one hour drive. Even saw this clown..

8:46 AM here..power is still on, snowing to beat the band...and it's windy as fuck...looks like about 8 inches so far...

We have about 1/2 inch here.....

I was locked out of my job for an hour this morning. And as the trainstation above ground are not running and the buses are not running it will take me a while to get home.

Good news for my area(New York City area, just west of New York City) is that the storm hugged a lot closer to the coast than earlier predictions. Not going to bash the meteorologists as they basically were saying any drift in the direction of the storm could increase or sizably decrease total snow accumulations and we're going to wind up with 6-8 total inches due to a lot of mixing with ice and sleet. Northwest New Jersey, upstate New York and northern parts of Pennsylvania will get up to two feet of snow... originally they were on the lighter side of the storm but since it's much closer to the coast they get the prize of heaviest accumulations, unfortunately. But sleet and ice can be a nightmare to deal with so anyone who has to be out there for any reason please be careful.
