She needs some time to absorb what is now no longer a "maybe". I'm sure once she sees how much of a step for you this was and that you are happy, she will be happy for you. You're the same son you have always been; she just knows a bit more about you, that's all.

Ah, awesome for you. From personal experience I know how difficult it can be...though my Mom ended up finding out over the phone...

It took you a few years to get used to the idea, and even longer to say it out loud..

Give her the same time..

When me and my Ma had our heart to heart, she said she knew..It was hardly a shock..I mean, I never brought a girl over.

It didn't help that my 3 older brothers were WHORES! and would drag home a different girl every week..

What she expressed sadness over was, as she said,"Your gonna have a hard life kid"..

Times have changed, I'm glad people are coming out younger and younger.

I'll say this..You had more balls then I did..

I got caught gagging on a dick at at 15,and was "cast from the camp" ie, thrown out..

I didn't talk to my Ma for years after that..

At 22 when she asked AGAIN, I told her her ''Yep, I'm a homo."

From that day foward, she was cool with it..'

I don't think i'm more courageous than you...the time period matter a lot!
My mom has asked me like 4 times before so in her heart i knew she knew.
She's in denial now...but i'll deal with that later

The two most important things I wanted say have already been said above.

1) Improbable as it may seem to you now, at some level your Mom has always known that you are gay.

2) Give her time, she will come around.

I remember when I came out to my Mom. At first, I really thought she was going to open a vein or something... But, within a years time, (less, actually) we were kind of joking about it and even making comments about the cute guys we saw in the mall and such.

It will work out for you.
