So I just saw the Ugly Betty season finale

And now I'm depressed. This must be the saddest finale I've seen so far. :(
 
Oh my god,
It was full of DRAMA! I don't want to spoil it so I guess we can wait for the west coast to see it. I'm gagging at the way the story unfolded.
 
And I'm gonna develop a twitch over summer until the 2nd season starts. o_O
 
While I had a pretty good idea what was going to happen it was a sad season finale.:(

me too... I shed some tears.. it was really a heart breaking finale... and the WSS at the end just added to it.. I knew what was coming ....

I'snt this supposed to be a comedy? The show really is more drama than comedy. Yet expect it to get into the comedy category at the Emmys. Tonight however, was no laughing matter.

Tears did come to my eyes, but i literally broke down when Betty told her sister that her son's father died. That was a hard scene to watch.


So we have a prison break spin off? whats that about? isn't she going to be in more trouble for escaping?

People still cut the brakes? that was not original but it worked well tonight. It was a cool twist. But then again, nobody else was on the road why didn't Alexis just turn the car around or sideways that would have stopped it.

So so sad. And all this misery is what they leave us with till September.

The show is mainly a comedy but it has quite a dramatic touch. If the finale was comedic it wouldn't have the same effect on the viewers and the need of tuning in next season.
 
Isn't Ugly Betty a "dramady" but it was a crazy season finale indeed (one of the best I've seen) but yeah love this show (even though I missed some stuff alternating between Betty & Smallville...)
 
OMG .. I just finished watching it - I TiVoed it.

My heart is like ripping out of my chest ... I am so overwhelmed. This was the best season finale I have seen in such a long time!! God, the summer is just gonna draaaaaag now ..... !!!

Yup, amazing cliff-hangers on this terrific show ! Anyone know how soon the entire first season will be out on DVD ? ( missed a couple )
 
Great finish for season 1. can't wait for the dvd. anyone else think that marc and amanda are the new jack and karen.
 
Thoroughly enjoyed tonight's episode.

Waiting until autumn for answers will be rough.

I think this is the best cliffhanger/season finale ever. I love the over the top soapy and campy style of the show...telenovellas are melodramatic by nature anyway...and this episode was the epitome of that. All the cliff hangers...whoa!...I 'll have to watch again on ABC website to take it all in again (and I can enjoy it wide screen on computer...no wide screen tv for me yet. :cry: )

Yes...excellent analogy....those 2 are hysterical and are one of my favorite parts of the show...love the snippy, bitchy, snide, self absorbed comments from each. Perfect casting and perfect writing for these two characters.

They set it up for us to assume one thing...Santos dying...so I'm going to guess he's not the one who is dead and that the Ignacio theory is a good option. But I really don't think it will be that either...hope not anyway. The father is too critical of a character to kill off...to important as the rock/foundation of the family unit. And, then where would they go with the whole immigration storyline...and the "revenge" story that they started to set up. I don't think anyone is dead...or, as we all know...even if a character dies in a soap...it doesn't mean they're really dead. There could be some other twist where it was faked, a twin, a dream, etc...something absolutely ridiculous. Love the theory though...

I was glad the Betty/Henry/Charlie triangle had the twist where Charlie was having an affair and is now possibly pregnant (she's lying!). We can't have Betty and Henry get together yet and be happy.

Is Amanda Fayes daughter??? Wouldn't that make her Daniel's sister? That would be just too icky :badgrin: ...didn't she and Daniel have an office romance?

Judith Light (Faye) is great as the crazed drunken convict socialite...what a character this is. I liked and remember her from way back, when she was Karen the hooker on One Life to Live ...but hated her role in Who's the boss...like her again though.

Is Alexis dead??? We know Daniel can't die. I love the dynamics between her and Daniel...but ever since she came on the show she's been more the villain than Willamina...and I want Willamina to be the primary villain. She does evil so well.

Enough rambling for now....gotta watch it again though, as soon as it's available on-line.
 
Someone has to be dead I think. Could it be Alexis? (Payback for arranging Bradford's death, only to become the victim of her own plan?) Remember when Daniel said: "I used to visit your grave every Sunday. Sometimes I wish I still could." Maybe he'll get that wish fulfilled and feel very guilty for having indirectly caused Alexis' death.
