So who is Watching the Stupor Bowl?

I was bored. The lady last year was much better.

So -- jumping off the roof of the stadium and being lowered by cables into the field -- WHILE performing -- after singing with 300 drones flying behind her in the night sky in a coordinated choreography -- wasn't enough? Not to mention the rest of her performance...

Geez Thynight -- what does it take to garner your interest?

:):):)

I just felt Beyonce put on a more entertaining show. It told a story.

Being up high, drones and stuff like that is not that interesting to me.

The best Super Bowl halftime show was the one with the Blues Brothers. That one rocked!

From what I've experienced, heard from friends, and read, most people in foreign countries don't hate us. If anything, many of them aspire to be like us, to have our material wealth and social mobility. An ayatollah doesn't hate us for our conspicuous consumption--he hates us for our past and current real and imagined transgressions against his nation, and our alliances with its rivals. Similar for the Muslim militant: just substitute religion for nation.

Possible it is my own world view. I was a lawyer who worked for legal aid and government agencies. I call myself a socialist.

Way off topic, but an enjoyable and interesting conversation with author Tom Lutz in which he speaks of his experiences while traveling.

From the conversation: "I do find that I'm regularly surprised at my reception where I expect problems. I tell people I'm an American and they get excited and want me to meet their family." He then goes on to speak specifically of Iran, Laos and Nicaragua: "America is not the Great Satan. America is the goal."

Unfortunately I did. Never been so pissed at a sports team in my life.
