Soccer World Cup 2010

[ ... ]
I have got kinda used to the 24/7 coverage we dedicate to big events here in .za - cricket, rugby and football World Cups, Olympics, pretty much any major tournament and our guys really do go to town on it. For Athens and Beijing we had coverage on 8 dedicated channels throughout the event. Even for the Champions' League, we get 4 live matches on 4 different channels, plus another 2 delayed straight afterwards if you want to watch; likewise the Premiership football. I don't think I'd cope with the football coverage in the US.

omg, I'm so jealous.

Likewise the Nigerian 'keeper, Nyeama - had a blinder against Argentina to keep the score at only 1-0 down.

That is a bummer.

It just reflects the difference in popularity, and a bit of good ole jingoism. The US Team got a lot of coverage, but now that they are out no one seems to care much. I sort of blame the US team and players because instead of promoting the World Cup they have been patting themselves on the back. Landon Donovan is treated like Eusibeo when he couldn't carry Eusibeo's jock.

Let me take a moment to praise South Africa as host. Everything has looked so beautiful, even serene.

Brazil's turned into divers now, too many players in Europe or something i guess
That's so sad and disappointing, isn't it?

A few yellow cards for "simulation" and that would stop pretty quick in this tournament.

this is becoming difficult for the oranjes ..

Princesses Robben and Robin are not playing well together.

I don't think I've ever seen some stroll so easily into a goal as Robhino did.

It was a surprise goal for me. it came out of nowhere. It sure woke me up though.

^ well "surprise" .. it was a big mistake to let him run around like that. a pass like that shouldn't happen!

anyway. the netherlands accidentally just scored ;)

yea. That was a silly equalizer. oh well. whoever scores next now.

fuck kaka is strong. just another big chance.

and two dutch players now missing for a possible semi ..

totally deserved red. and after the refs got so much crap i have to say i don#t get why the coach is complaining so much. the ref here is exceptionally good for the whole game.

so much for brazil ;)

amazing comeback, netherlands. congratulations!

I'm not sure I am satisfied with that game but life goes on. Now Argentina vs. Germany tomorrow. I'm giddy with excitement.

Me, 5 minutes ago.
