Semi-finals:

Netherlands - Uruguay
Germany - Spain

From these four teams will come the World Champions!
The only new team in semi-finals is Spain, who despite being considered a football super-power, has never reached semi-finals in its history.

Netherlands have already been runner-ups in 1974 & 1978, when they were considered the best team in the world despite failing in the final match against Germany & Argentina respectively.

Germany and Uruguay are the two former world champions that want to repeat. Uruguay goes after its 3rd World Cup, after 60 years without winning one, and after 40 years without reaching semi-finals. Germany are looking for its fourth trophy, which will put them even with Italy, and only one trophy behind Brazil. Their last World Cup win was in Italy 90, when they defeated Maradona's Argentina in the finals.

Can't wait to see the outcome!
 
Well, my sister is wearing her orange jersey and orange socks to work on the days that the Netherlands team is playing.

I said I was rtooting for argentina so germany wins it happened

I was rooting for paraguay over Spain it happened again..

I m kinda feeling & rooting for a Uruguay // spain final so I guess it's going to be Netherlands Vs Germany...

oh well if it is I think I need to play lottery win a million buck and fly over to brazil ... LMAO

I think we all know that feeling. Like when the USA goal against Slovenia was disallowed :(, and then when Landon Donovan made that last-minute, last-chance, last-hope goal that took USA to Round of 16.(!)

That's why we love this game. :D

Carnaval in summer?

Jubbers and half naked brazilian guys, it sounds very good but I doubt I'll save enough money to go to Brazil.

I can't think of anything that could be more fun!

First, to meet (in person) and hang out with you guys.

Second, to be in Brazil. It's always been a dream of mine.

Oh, and third, to see a game or two. :D

If I start saving my pennies now (and eat just 4 days a week) I might be able to swing it.

That's the spirit! We'll go uber-low budget.

I'll probably be too old to stay in backpackers' places without everyone looking at me funny, but we'll go like 2 or 3 star places. As long as the room is clean, lockable and has access to a shower, that'll do for me. It's not like we'll be spending a lot of time in the hotel, anyway, between beaches and carnaval and hitting clubs and bars and fan parks and football games and everything*.
