This guy is from up in Vannie's neck of the woods.

At age 45, he decided to use a drone to vandalize a local motel's pool, as well as at least one residential pool. No motive stated yet that I could find. May face $30k in FAA fines before his civil liabilities. And he's a business owner, not some basement-dwelling loser. Go figure.

He could have done much worse. Maybe he wanted more green spaces.

Drones annoy me, but that's their purpose, isn't it?

Some years ago an artist friend and myself did some anti-capitalism "modification" work at a few locations, but I should probably say no more.

^That's more my neck of the woods. I watch Channel 6 at home. I used to work with Spina family members, in southern NJ, but I don't believe they were related to that fool.

I thought this thread might be about Matt Gaetz or Jym Jordan or Hamas. Dodged that one.

sis getting your hole poundedd while burning dollar bills in an alley behind the business district isn't really anti-capitalism, especially knowing what you had to do to earn those dollars. :bartshock

Literally every tech advancement is used to make the world uglier and more miserable. all the power to destroy, none to build or help. ](*,)

@ 'can damage the pool'

Pretty damn vague. What are the odds of the pool being damaged, and what sort of damage? Major damage, or just enough discolouration of a drain cover to let us get away with saying 'can damage the pool'?

They never said what the arrested droner's business is. Was it pool maintenance by any chance? :)

Looks like a swimming pool of Hai Karate :luv2:

That's down South Jersey. I'm up North in Bergen County. I don't know much about that Quality Inn although I know some Hotels in general get trashed down that area.

I saw a pic on one of the videos of his business name, and it was something that implied HVAC.

As a pool owner, I have no problem believing the dye could permanently stain a liner, could alter PH to etch or corrode pump parts or metal fixtures, or could even attack underground joints for return lines.

I hope they sue his ass off for the intrusion. He vandalized a home's pool. We have reason to be irate when someone trespasses, even by robotic drone. He should serve jail time for the repeated attacks on the hotel, costing them business and money. Crime should be punished.

HVAC could easily include pool heating and filtration, then, couldn't it?

I agree he needs to be prosecuted. I hate trespassers of any sort. I'm just trying to imagine what he was up to.

And, I find sensationalism and deceptive journalism intolerable.

There must be more going on than meets the eye here.

No sane person does this.

Chicago isn't telling what they use to dye the river green for St Patrick's Day. But it sure looks like the same stuff.:)

And I found two vendors that wanted me to add green sea dye to my shopping cart. I didn't see anything about it being toxic or corrosive or damaging, but I only glanced. LOL

If he was trying to create work for his business, he's no different than shady car repair shops or building contractors or . . .

These creeps are everywhere.

How did you know? You got the location wrong, though. Performance art is sterile unless people see it and I'm sure we gave everyone at the daycare center something to think about that night.

I disagree. Malice exists. It doesn't even need vengeance as a motive.

A lot of the YouTube viewers commented that they thought it was for gain, that it must be a pool maintenance motive, but that ignores reality.

Reality is that there is definitely a breed of malefactor who loves the anonymity of a drone and its ability to get in and out undetected, and in some cases, to do malice.

If we find out the truth, I bet it is that he hated the hotel for some petty reason and tortured it because he could. And we'll find some other connection to the resident whose pool was dyed. If they find a larger, um, pool of residential victims, then he's just enjoying the power trip of causing harm.

Many people who can't be bothered to do something good for the world get off on the power trip of destruction. It's lame, but very real.

Not really much different than the morons who shoot into traffic from a hidden sniper position, or punks throwing stuff off bridges at traffic. Such power. Wow.
