Someone please talk me out of buying this

I think the $130 one looks ok. The second one just appeared too much to be a repeat of the Gearfun scam.

Keep us updated when it arrives.

The two cheap ones I have are still in their boxes and are not even interesting enough to play with. I'll give them away to kids somewhere. Probably send them to my nephews when my sister visits later this month.

A few years late on this. They ended up giving me a full refund and a shipping label to send it back to them.

Why am I revisiting this old-ass thread?

So, recently I had a tenant move to another state because of his job. When I checked the place, I noticed a couple boxes of stuff still there. I talked to him on the phone and he apologized to me saying they simply ran out of space. I then found a drone. I asked him about it and he was like "damn it!" Apparently, his daughter was suppose to load that into the van but she didn't. He told me just keep it.

I brought it home with me and tried it out. One of those fancie ones. Got a GPS, records video in hi-Def. Knows how to get home. Works perfectly. I've been flying it around for fun. Haven't bought a memory card yet so I haven't tried out the video recording yet. But so far, it works great. I'll post some pics of it tomorrow.

LOL after all these years a good one just fell into my lap for free!

^ LOL I'd almost forgotten how toxic this place can be. Believe it or not. Don't care. Been doing this long enough to not be surprised what kind of stuff people leave behind in their rentals.

While renovating a place I bought one time, found about ~$300 stuffed in a wall. No gold or real high value items yet, though. Most stuff people leave behind are just junk.

Not to be a killjoy, but the thing to do would be to pack it up and ship it to the tenant at his new address, even after flying it.

After all, he left it in error, and was too poor to afford to move all his belongings. You're wealthy enough to own rental property.

Noblesse oblige.

Karma: put into the world what you want to receive out of the world.

You're right of course. I'll send it to him.

I always question myself whenever I wanna buy more cabbage.

Do you really want cabbage?

Do you need cabbage?

Didn't you just have cabbage for lunch?

Isn't cabbage pushing your friends away?

But I get it anyway.

*sigh*

That's wonderful. Think how happy he and his daughter will be. Even if you have to tell him it's coming, what a great surprise to smooth the anxieties that inevitably follow moving.

An old house in my hometown was torn down to make way for a parking lot. It was demolished in the 60's, I think.

The contractor was aware that there was a tale that there was treasure hidden in the walls, so he was careful as he tore them out.

There was a complete set of sterling silver hidden, believed to have been from the Civil War era. How exciting that must have been.

I'm not exactly sure why my experiences are so unbelievable that people think they are made up. It's beyond common that people leave stuff behind when they move. It's beyond common to find things hidden away by god knows who in the distant past. It's like questioning whether someone was telling the truth when they claimed to have seen a car on the street. It's beyond common that there are cars on the street.

I remember sharing a story about someone at the gym asking for pointers and I gave it to them and then some individuals here accused me of making it up. I'm addicted to working out at the gym. It's beyond common for people to ask for advice at the gym. It's beyond common for people to work out together.

Anyway, I'm looking out for real valuable stuff hidden in these old places I renovate. One of these days, I'm gonna find some gold coins dating back to the 1800s. Keeping my fingers crossed LOL.

The Gym Story...
As some of you may know, life has been kinda bland and boring for me lately. Then yesterday several things happened that broke the boring daily life. Brought several smiles to my face.

I was at the gym doing my thing. Was doing pull-ups. A couple of high school Freshmen dudes came by and tapped me on my shoulder. It was their first day at a 2 months free for planet fitness. They asked me to give them some tips. I told them a few things and then I suggested how about they follow me around for the day and do all the routines I do. So, I spent the next 2 hours coaching them. We exchanged numbers and I told them I will text them when I go to the gym so they could come and we can do the next parts of our bodies. As I walked to the locker room to get my stuff to leave, I heard one of them called his mom and said "hey mom guess what we got a coach!"

On my way home, my boyfriend called and told me a couple of old ladies came by. So, the situation with them is kinda weird. In their old age, they suddenly wanted to get into real estate. They bought 7 houses and now they need them renovated. Ya, I know it's weird. They had some kind of falling out with their contractor so now they are trying to get me and my crew to work on their houses. My guys have their hands full right now so... Anyway, my boyfriend and I were laughing because when they came by they asked to see my "wife and kids". Apparently, they tried to look me up and found my brother LOL.

When I got home, the 8 year old neighbor girl came over and asked me if she could take one of my corgis home. What? I told her no I'm too emotionally attached to them. For reference, she's been coming over and inviting herself in for a while. Apparently, she likes my dogs. Yesterday, she even asked if my boyfriend and I were married.

Doesn't sound much, but it was a pretty significant change from my daily routine. Life's been boring lately. I need to get out more.

Anyone else here been feeling like life has been kinda stale? Something broke the cycle of staleness in your life?

I believe that most of the backlash you received from that post wasn't because of its believability, but because you, a gay man, exchanged phone #s with two high school Freshmen (young boys about 14-15 years of age).
...and then you didn't post another thread until 4 months later

sometimes you strike me as a person who lacks the ability to 'read the room'; a 'can't-see-the-forest-for-the-trees' kind of guy.
