Songs that Bring A Tear To Your Eye?

I tear up very easily, so mine would be a long list. Off the top of my head

"The Dance" Garth Brooks

"At Last" various artists, Cyndi Lauper does a great version

"Superman" Five for Fighting

"Home" Michael Buble (that one REALLY gets me)

"Desperado" The Eagles

:-)

"You have been loved" - George Michael ("you brushed my eyes with angels wings, full of love, the kind that makes devils cry...")
"Jesus to a child" - George Michael ("with your last breath you saved my soul...")
"Who wants to live forever" - Queen ("who dares to love for ever when love must die?")
"Mr Bojangles" - Sammy Davis Jr (I've no idea, but it does something...)
"Hurt" - Johnny Cash (the video in particular...)
"Pagliacci" - Beniamino Gigli

Few things make me more emotional than music.

Today My World Slipped Away

George Strait :(

"Crash Into Me" by the Dave Matthews Band -- my first partner introduced me to their music and fell in love with them. He plays acoustic guitar and everytime he calls me he would always sing it to me. My relationship with him ended in 1999, but to this day I cannot listen to this song without falling apart.

Gary Jules' version of Mad World is just sublime!

I saw him live in LA when I was there a few years ago at this little shithole of a place. His voice really does make that song his own. Nice guy too!

You Raise Me Up Josh Groban, The Wind Beneath My Wings Bette Midler, I Can't Make You Love Me Bonnie Raitt probably tons more

Sleepin' - Diana Ross

- and happy tears versus sad ones

I Sing The Body Electric - FAME

Samantha James - Again and Again

Here's Where I Stand- From soundtrack 'Camp'
Be My Enough- Peyton
The Way I Love You- Peyton (bit of a fan; appreciate all his music endeavors)

Monsters; James Blunt
Dance With My Father; Luther Vandross

Lost my dad in 2019 and weirdly the last six years have been painless, but recently I have been thinking about him and tell others stories about him a lot.

Edith Piaf's father went to fight in WWII, he was killed. Her mother didn't want her, and sent her to the local whorehouse to grow up. In her teens she had a lovely singing voice, and was hired to sing in the French cabarets of Montmatre. In her 40's she developed ovarian cancer, and before she died she recorded "Non, Je ne regrette rien." "No, I regret Nothing."
