That's ridiculous. Obama is going to be a substantial change from Bush. On energy, on health care, on taxes, on foreign policy, and on a bunch of other things.
We've already seen the beginnings of it.
I agree that a few of Bush's failure's Obama has since continued, but to say he is no different is absurd. By the end of his first term, I think things are going to look very different from now.
In the ways he is Change, Obama will not make things better.
How do you think our tax situation will improve?
Obama will not get us out of Iraq in the time he promised, and we will be in Afghanistan much longer than they're saying. Other foreign policy, what will be improved from Bush?
The economic stimulus and financial services bailouts will not in the long run help the economy become healthy.
The healthcare Obama gets through, I predict, may change the problems but will not result in a state of the art more cost efficient system. Obama is lying about the cost cuts that pharma and insurance and the healthcare industry is willing to make and that American citizens will see in their pocketbook. It's going to cost people who pay for it more and what we get for it will not be improved. (It COULD be improved and cost could come down, but it won't with Obama and Pelosi controlling the legislation.)
Our debt is going to be through the roof and Obama will not cut deficits in half as he promised. There'll be tons of excuses and his supporters will protect and defend him.
DOMA will remain. DADT might change because Obama will need more bodies in the military, but he will not use the opportunity to make the military a truly equal opportunity place for gays.
I know what's going to happen because I figured out who Obama is (and Pelosi too). I don't know what the other elements will bring so maybe my predictions will not be spot-on, but as events have already shown, I get it darned close.
Obama is no change from Bush. I don't mean ideologically. Obviously Bush was a Republican and Obama's a Democrat. But they both are unprincipled and untrustworthy, so even though Bush's lean tended right and Obama's tend left, in the end their choices, their decisions are not based on ideology, they're based in their narcissism and personal ambition, all their choices are based in decision making that's about them and not us or the greater good, and in that way Bush and Obama are very similar. It's fascinating, really, because they're men from completely different backgrounds so the specifics, the details, of their wanting is different, but the want is the same. The American people elected the same kind of man after Bush had fooled us and screwed us, and they're getting fooled and screwed again -- only from the other side.
