The season finales of stargate and atlantis are this friday! I can't wait :corn:

I'm such a scifi nerd, plus I love seeing Sheppard, he's so cute!;)

Any other stargate fans out there...

I love the Gates...| I just can't believe they're at the season's end already. Actually, I think they may be a mid-season finale and hopefully they should resume in the spring.

Love Stargate... my ex (and still best friend) got me hooked on them about four years ago.

It is the mid-season finales... but instead waiting 3 months for the second half of the seasons... we have to wait six months. Sci-Fi won't be showing new episodes of SG1 and Atlantis until March.

Oh, and about a year-and-a-half ago I was at a convention where Michael Shanks was the headliner. He had his beard going at the time because they were shooting the first few episodes of season 9. I got his autograph and got to say he looks just as hot in person! ..|

i started watching atlantis when it started then that got me watching sg-1 (which i hadn't done before). I've got seasons 1-4 now of sg-1 and i'm only up to about the end of season 2.

yeah i'm sorry i just started watching sg-1 and it's being cancelled. poor claudia black and ben browder...first farscape and now sg-1.

I have always loved both shows.. from a Sci-Fi perspective. I did think there was some serious eye-candy. But it wasn't until I read gdsx's stories that I really started to get 'hot' while watching them! Now you can't pry me away from the set when they're on! LOL (God, I'm such a dork!)

NEWS:

Amanda Tapping, Dr. Samantha Carter from Stargate SG-1, will join Stargate Atlantis as a primary cast member in Atlantis' 4th season, set to premiere on the SciFi Channel in the summer of 2007. She will appear in 14 episodes of Stargate Atlantis' fourth season. With Stargate SG-1's cancellation, Tapping was left with a year remaining in her contract with the franchise, and the producers felt the best option for Carter was a move to Atlantis, a move they had been trying to arrange for some time.

NEWS:

Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis will return to U.S. television April 6th on the SciFi channel. [story]

Minor Spoilers below:

SG-1 will premeire with "The Quest, part 2", and round up it's final episodes with:

Line in the Sand
The Road Not Taken
The Shroud
Bounty
Bad Guys
Talion
Family Ties
Dominion
And finally, SG-1's series finale will be entitled "Unending".

Of course, look for the two Stargate SG-1 movies, "The Ark of Truth", and "Continuum" to air sometime this fall.

Stargate Atlantis will premiere with "The Return, part 2", and round out it's 3rd season with:

Echoes
Irresponsible
Tao of Rodney
The Game
The Ark
Sunday
Submersion
Vengeance
And it's 3rd season finale, "First Strike"

As a side note, keep a look out for Atlantis' season finale. As i have already seen the episode, speaking from a story standpoint, and a graphical standpoint, look for it to be one of the best Atlantis episodes to date, taking Atlantis in a new direction for it's 4th season. Stargate Atlantis will begin it's 4th season (at as of a yet undetermined date) with "Adrift".

Major Spoilers:
Also, it has been confirmed (as if it wasn't common knowledge by now) that Paul McGillion's character, Dr. Carson Beckett, will be killed off later in the 3rd season.

And much to the fans' dismay, Torri Higginson's character, Dr. Elizabeth Weir (leader of the Atlantis expedition), will be reduced from a main character to a recurring character in season 4 of Stargate Atlantis.

NEWS:

Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis' premiere dates have been pushed back one week to April 13th.

Stargate Atlantis begins filming it's 4th season this March, HOWEVER there will be NO summer premiere this year. Instead, Stargate Atlantis' 4th season will premiere sometime this fall.

Unconfirmed reports have the 2 Stargate SG-1 movies, The Ark of Truth and Continuum, being pushed back to a 2008 release date.

Is it true you guys don't get to see the second half of the current seasons until March/April?

We've nearly got right to the actual end of season. This week we saw:

Atlantis - Sunday
SG1 - Talion (I think. Could have been Family Ties)

Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis' premiere dates have been pushed back one week to April 13th.

That would be a yep.

They premeire in the US on April 13th, and the season finales will air around the 15th or 22nd of June.

Atlantis begins filming it's fourth season in march, and it will premeire in the US this fall (likely september or october). I have no idea if it will premeire earlier than that overseas.

However those of us that know well enough and have access to the internet can watch the episodes that have yet to air in the US. For example, i personally am as up to date as you in the episodes i've seen. In fact i watched the finale of atlantis like, i dunno, 2 or 3 weeks ago, and am on episode 18 of this season of SG-1.

I just watched the Atlantis Finale myself. What did you think of it? I kinda thought it was a little cliche, and too much like the last 2 finales.

Are you referring to the mid-season finale "The Return" or the season finale "First Strike"?

If you meant the latter i couldn't disagree more, i thought it was brilliant.

i can't wait for them to end up on another world, there's so much oppourtunity for stories and peril.

I'm such a scifi nerd, plus I love seeing Sheppard, he's so cute!;)

I'm more of a David Hewlett (McKay) guy myself... He's such a cutie ;) Sure, he doesn't have an 8-pack and he's not 6'4", but he's so damned cute! And i really like his personality, and he makes me laugh, which i love. Not saying Flanigan isn't cute, but i'd take Hewlett over him any day :).

P.S.
Has anyone seen David's new movie A Dog's Breakfast? I can't wait to see it, it looks so funny and entertaining.

Honestly, I don't see that much difference in that situation. It's still the typical formula of : Whole city is in extreme peril and everyone might die, OMG, what are the gonna do... To be Continued"

I wasn't impressed. Sg-1's finale was waaaaaayyyyy better, and even that was lackluster.

Well, they had a lead in to both movies in a sense in the episode before the series finale. The First movie, The Ark of Truth, will finish the Ori storyline. The lead in for that was Adria ascending. Since the Ori are most likely dead according to Baal after he took Adria as host, the only Ori left is Adria, so the first movie will probably be SG-1 defeating her. I've read that SG-1 will be going to the Ori galaxy via the supergate for that movie.

The second movie is pretty much another time travel thing. Basic premise: SG-1 is attending the execution of Baal (or one of his clones) and all of a sudden Vala, Teal'c, and Baal disappear. The rest of the team returns home via ship to fond that the stargate was never uncovered, and the stargate program never happened. Then, of course, the planet comes under attack by Baal, his queen Quetesh (Vala), and his first prime Teal'c. So Sam, Daniel, Mitchel, and Jack (yep he's back for this movie) must find the stargate, go back in time to stop Baal from going back in time, and save the day.

I feel that the tiny lead in for the latter movie is the bit in Dominion where Landry mentions that there are probably still Baal clones out there. *Shrug*

SHHH! i haven't watched the end of SG-1 yet! I'm trying to wait until it airs in the U.S. so i can watch it with friends! :)

But i'll reiterate, i loved Atlantis' finale. I don't think it's the same formula at all, if you read about all the things that are going to be different in S4, you'll know it's not another cookie cutter finale. I'm really looking forward to S4 (and beyond) of Atlantis.

I loved the Gates too - but since Sky had a hissy fit and took off Sky1 I've missed them all.

And 24 too :(

I just started watching SG1 and I have a ( stupid) question---but have they ever said why almost every world they go the people speak english. I know that it would be annoying to have to learn a new language every week, but I have yet to hear an explaination for this. Farscape had the translator microbs.
