I'm afraid you're wrong Taiga. Torri Higgenson (Dr. Weir) will NOT be a REGULAR character in season 4. Currently, she will be seen in FOUR episodes of season 4, she will be a RECURRING character. That means her name won't be in the main title credits, etc... However Amanda Tapping (Sam Carter) will be a REGULAR character, appearing in every episode of the season announced thus far.

my expanded basic cable (which is the most basic service that gets scifi channel in my area) is 45 dollars a month. that plus cable internet comes out to just over 100 bucks a month. i couldn't afford both.

Can't you get channels a la carte (one by one). Like couldn't you just order the SCIFI channel in addition to basic cable?

i dunno... i get the feeling (from the way rob c cooper and joe mallozi have been talking) that she's just gonna kinda be a recurring character. I dunno what they'll do with her. But i doubt anything as big as leading the SGC... they have beau bridges for that, esp since sg-1 is in movies mode from now on.

forgive me, i was under the impression it was now U.S. law that they had to offer channels A la Carte?? I thought it took effect in late 2006 when all channels were mandated to be transmitted digitally, and no longer analog? Maybe i'm wrong, someone should look it up, lol.

Well ratings for Atlantis last friday were up! That's good. Ratings are up 8.33%. Hopefully next weeks will be even better, with SG-1's The Shroud beforehand, and the incredibly funny Atlantis episode Tao of Rodney afterward.

you should be way far ahead of us, all of season 3 of atlantis and season 10 of sg-1 broadcast to the rest of the world minus the us months ago, WE'RE the ones playing catch up... of course i saw them a long time ago via torrents .

There is some controversy over when season 4 of Atlantis will start. Stargate magazine said this summer, but SCIFI has always said this fall. Joe M. (Joe Mallozzi, executive producer) has also said this fall. So i would guess around the same time BSG started last year.

So far they've filmed 9 episodes, starting on episode 10 this wednsday. So far, season 4 will air in this order (subject to change)

So far, Torri Higgenson (Dr. Weir) will appear in 4 of the first 10 episodes, as she is no longer a regular cast member.

Amanda Tapping (Now Col. Samantha Carter) will be in 7-8 of the first 10 episodes (and 14 in total), first helping Atlantis out of it's current situation (ala season 3 finale First Strike), and later as the new Leader of the Atlantis Expedition, replacing Dr. Weir.

Paul McGillion (Dr. Beckett) is scheduled to be in at least 2, possibly 3 episodes in the latter half of season 4, as his character is dead as of episode 17 of season 3.

Christopher Judge (Teal'c) will have a small cameo role in the first half of season 4.

Another major SG-1 character will be feature in an episode in the latter half of season 4. This character will not be Jack O'Neill or Daniel Jackson.

And that's about all the major news, unless someone wants specific episode by episode spoilers, which i'd be happy to provide .

since i don't get scifi channel anymore, i've been buying the DVDs.

It's definetley not Claudia Black, she's awsome. It's probably just the fact that RDA isn't there as much anymore. Besides its o.k. that SG-1 is cancelled Atlantis is way better, and as an added bonus, Amanda Tapping is moving over to Atlantis next season, yayayayayayaya.

Well that's a big issue, a lot of fans (not me, i for one am looking forward to it) don't want her on Atlantis. And Atlantis' ratings are down for the second half of season 3 (currently airing tin the U.S.). Most probably because a lot of people have already seen the episodes. That's why it's so important that peeps in the U.S. still watch it live every friday night at 9pm, 8pm central . Because the show needs good ratings in order to get renewed for further seasons.

yeah it did sound mean, but i actually didn't mean it that way. claudia and ben have had back luck with their last two shows. i really like them both and i LOVED farscape...actually...don't tell proven...but i liked it more than SG-1, at least for a while.

Nah don't fret, i'm not the favorite show police . Everyone has their favorites, even i. Babylon 5 is king for me. My beef is supporting the shows you like that are on the air, like Atlantis. If you're a fan of a show, and have vested intrest in seeing it prosper, you should want to do the things that keep it in good standing; in Atlantis' case that's watching it live so it will get better ratings. But as for having a favorite show, that's purely a matter of individual taste, to each his own.
