My friend convinced me to get a gym membership, and after I got it I went five days the first week and worked myself hard.  I didn't really know what I was doing, but I just slowly figured out more and more machines and used decent amounts of weights with lots of reps (versus high weight /w low reps).  
Anyway, after the first week I got really sick and it's been almost two weeks. I still have a mild sore throat and cough. How long should I wait before I go back to the gym? (when I get sick I usually end up with a lingering cough for a good month afterward)
I had signed up for five sessions with a trainer, but when I got sick I canceled all my sessions until I got better. Now I am getting really antsy to get back to the gym. I had only been going for a week but I was already feeling some progress--but I don't want to make myself sick again. Any advice?
Also, is it possible I got sick from the gym? Contaminated machines, or working myself too hard?

		 Just got back from the gym for the first time in two weeks.  Felt great!  I did some leg workouts and then some cardio (but took it easy on the cardio).  Now I am going to get a full nights sleep and stick to three times a week for the gym until I feel 100%
