In a startling revelation, the daughter of Ugandan President Yoweri *Museveni admitted today during a radio talk show in Mbarara, in Western Uganda that she is homosexual, and that she is revealing this fact as a protest to the anti-gay law her father signed only a few days ago.
It is you failing to grasp my point of view. I'm saying you wouldn't be responsible for the trees not surviving.
If you can understand the logic that it would be inappropriate and quite frankly wrong to blame the German government, if a jewish citizen was attacked by a neo-nazi gang, then you should be able to grasp that you can't blame the British for anti-gay laws upheld in SOVEREIGN African nations.
Why not? Else explain Limbaugh, Fox, tea baggers, born-again fruitcakes, 90 years of commercials and the Academy Awards. And another thing, all this supposes that the africans were just passive recipiemts of other people's ideas
Point taken. There is however the relevance of time here. Evangelical preachers are working NOW, at a time when some of those countries they are choosing to work in are becoming more homophobic.

I can't speak for the U.K., but his brand of hatred and stupidity is legion in the U.S. and parts of Canada, especially Alberta. Those regions were doing it long before Uganda and the other African homophobic countries began to beat the drum for their pious Christian soldiers marching as to war.But this man here below— somehow I don't think he's voicing intellectual notions received from evangelical Christians from the USA or Great Britain.
I'd love to see some pre-18th century documents by the Bantu-speaking Pouhain farmers (Bene, Bulu, Fang, Jaunde, Mokuk, Mwele, Ntum and Pangwe), the Nilotico Lango, Cape Bantu, Baganda.
I think you're under the misimpression that anyone believes you are swayed by facts or evidence. You are merely manipulating goalposts so that you can continue to maintain a position in spite of any evidence.
Oh, very well ...
You gotta love how all the over reactive trolls come out of the woodwork on a topic they would normally ignore once you say something unflattering, and no matter how much evidence you give it will never be enough or good enough. And this is why I am devoting more and more my time to my 8000 followers (and growing) on Facebook where I am the administrator and the people are actually intellectual and engaged on topics that matter, such as gays being beaten up, which nobody here has expressed any concern over the last two pages except me.
Instead this thread, which was supposed to be about LGBT oppression, has devolved and digressed onto the point about whom is ultimately responsible for it in Sub-Saharan Africa, which by the way is NOT hotly debated among LGBT rights activists doing the work on the ground.

…..it's quite possible to say that a majority of people who live in anti-gay countries do so because of the British.
Your assessment fails to consider what anti-gay bias existed before the Evangelicals evoked it, or conversely, what simple-mindedness or evil that makes certain African cultures vulnerable to this sort of persuasion. Could anyone imagine an outside group entering Iceland or Bangkok and eliciting such a sheep-like response?...
Is there ANY documentation of the pro-gay laws in Africa prior to the Brits arriving?
