So I just found out I have chlamydia and gonorrhea in my anus and gonorrhea in my throat. I will receive treatment tomorrow.
How long until I can have sex again, and what kind?

I'm meeting my love in Italy and it would be nice if we could do something. There was nothing in my penis. Could I have safe sex?

It's going to depend on which treatment you get. In the US, the gold standard treatment for gonorrhea involves a single dose antibiotic injection in your buttock. The treatment for chlamydia has several options- either a large dose oral antibiotic or 7 days of oral antibiotics.

The recommendation is refraining from sex for 7 days after the last dose of antibiotics. If they give you the shot with the 1 dose of oral antibiotics, you're looking at 8 days. If they give you the shot with 7 days of oral antibiotics, you're looking at 15 days.

It is important to follow the no sex for 7 days recommendation because of the risk that you'll infect your partner who can then reinfect you which would just start the whole process over again.

Which is why if you're going to go around the block do it with only a couple passengers in the car keep 2 steady monogamous fuck buds if you must but more than that opens you up! Better check about HIV in 3 months!

Got an injection... or perhaps rather two... the first being a mild anesthetic and a seven day cure of doxycycline 100 mg twice a day. The lady at the clinic said that the gonorrhea is so contagious I should refrain from even protected sex for the duration of the cure. After I finish I will not have sex for at least a week more.

Getting PreP in December.

...gonorrhea is so contagious...
And increasingly resistant to antibiotics.

I wasn't sure if The Netherlands used the same protocols as the US. It sounds like they use the "7 day after completion of antibiotics" standard, too.

One of the problems with gonorrhea and chlamydia is that they can infect the urinary tract, the anus and the throat. Refraining from sex until the infection has cleared is the only way to prevent further spread to others.

Not sure if we do. I took the advice as ´don´t have sex during the cure´ which ends today, but my boyfriend wants to have sex with me in Lille on Friday. I think we will.

We met yo Milan this long weekend and although we visited both a cruise bar and a gay sauna (his idea), didn´t have any sex whatsoever.

Ok. Three days after finishing my cure, I will have sex again. In The Netherlands this is also not advised.

Is there a reason you are having so much wild unprotected sex? I mean if you care about your "love's" well being you won't have sex with him till the doctors give the ok.

I mean I thin Chylamidia and gonorrhea are skin to skin contact diseases so condoms may not help but still you need to be using as much protection and discernment as you can if not for you then for your love.

Wrong Gono and Chlam are spread by sexual fluid. HIV Hep B Are by blood and Syph Herp and Gen Warts are spread by skin.

Oh so in that then skin to skin contact can protect you from Gonorhea and Chlamydia.

Still Harke the Boeotarch you shouldn't be having a bunch of unprotected sex with dudes especially if you have a "love" why would you risk infecting him with anything.

...Herp and Gen Warts are spread by skin.

HSV (genital herpes) and HPV (genital warts) are primarily contact based, assuming that the infected person is shedding virus. These are the two infections that may not be prevented by condom use.

The rest of the list are transmitted by body fluids (which includes blood, saliva and semen), at different risk factors. Condoms are more effective in preventing transmission of these.

It's a sad statement but several physicians I know now routine order blood tests for syphilis, along with urethral, throat and rectal swab testing for anyone they see who is on PrEP under the assumption that they're not using condoms.

That assumption may not be far off.

Our holiday was wonderful.

My lover will have himself tested. Hope I didn't (re-)infect him. Was going to a chemsex meeting, but haven't yet.

The MSM statistics agree, particularly the numbers on syphilis and HPV-related anorectal cancers.

Memory of history seems to be a short-coming among the gays.

If memory serves... there were several.

Are we talking forty years ago or twenty?

To my recollection, it started 40 years ago and lasted for nearly 20... if it ever really ended.

Was four 40 years ago. 20 years ago -almost- always used condoms.

Booty bumping Bath Salts isn't very good for keeping rectal tissue resilient is it? Thought I'd found a good way of administrating 3mmc rather tan injecting... but is a correct injection with a clean needle actally safer than booty bumping when barebacking? Does anybody know?
