just as a point of issue, though - some gay men have considered sex changes because of a lifelong sense of alienation from the gay community or a deep-seated desire to rectify their cock-loving, apron-wearing, interior-decorating, sports-hating ways with their physical genitalia.

so yeah - i agree - the words "what a waste" and "i liked him better as a guy" come off as crass and insensitive. but what is implied in some of those statements (as i have outright stated) is, "i value YOU, as a gay man."

and for guys who had contemplated such a change, who had experienced such alienation - those words, "you have value to me in who you are, as a gay man" can be the small catalyst, the seed that could change - even if slightly - a gay guy's opinion of himself.

of course, it's all moot with stonie since she's female, now - but i just think the clarification was warranted.
