Just because a straight person knows this site exists doesn't make them gay, I am sure you, j080378, have at some point in your life seen a straight porn website. I'm gay and have been on straight porn sites before, I'm sure most gay people have. Straight people are allowed to have curiosity and they are allowed to learn about homosexuality. I say kudos to any straight people who are on here. Many of us in the LGBT community criticize straight people for not being educated on homosexuality and homosexual people; being on this site and reading and participating in the forum is a great way to gain knowledge. By saying that a straight person can't be on this site and still be straight may just discourage them from being on here and educating themselves about gay people; you are just perpetuating ignorance.

The issue to me is very clear.

Straight guys never had their sexuality questioned. It is integrated and supported everywhere in the world.

A straight man has a lot of sexual partners and he's considered a big cool stud. A gay man has a lot of sexual partners and he's looked at as a leper or whore. Kinda like how society still treats women, in that particular sense. (Sadly, heterosexual women are still treated better than gay men at large.)

If a straight man is rude or catty to somebody, it's kinda glossed over as him being simply rude/catty. If a gay man is being rude or catty, it MUST be because he's gay.

The painful invisibility is what creates gay men to create all these niche groups and private meetings 'safe spaces' you see all over the net.

Basically when gay men travel it's an attempt to find themselves, and to try and sort out why they have the desiries they do - to maybe see how much they can get away with integrating their orientation in the straight majority world. Which is what we all want eventually, a separate and exlusive gay identity has been a failed experiment in the past, with gay men hyper scared of their own shadows and sexuality. So loving and eroticizing somebody who can't love you back is then a real safe option. Ultimately, I guess, it will be revealed if this whole 'ooh straight guys are so hot thing' is based on some truth, or yet another self-loathing characteristic of gay men.

I'm trying to have an open mind and dialogue, honestly. But people tend to be kind of irrationally defense about their kinks.

I've also always wondered about the straights on here. I can understand you guys ending up here somehow and reading the threads, but I can't quite wrap my mind around the actually clicking the link and registering part.

I suppose stranger things have happened, and I have ended up joining a board simply to voice an opinion and then never gone back afterwards, so it is all probable; however, I'd struggle to join a board which very obviously was aimed at people entirely unlike me.

For example, I'd never register on a board where the content was essentially pro-oppression - a pro-KKK site, say - even to voice a contrary opinion.

I guess I should've clarified as 'homophobic' straight guy on street, versus open-minded straight guy online here. I also went with "not straight guy" as opposed to "gay guy", because there are those who aren't straight who aren't gay.

It's just a double standard thing: Run into discrimination in the street, but as soon as someone who is heterosexual comes to a forum like this, there are all kinds of not straight guys calling him gay, in the closet, on the DL, whatever it is. I'm basically pointing out the absurdity.

Oh, and FTR I'm bi and I don't tell my straight or gay friends I'm on this forum. First, they don't ask. Second, I don't come here for porn--I have plenty of outlets for that. Third, I doubt they'll all be chasing me around the internet looking for every single thing I do.
