Hi, guys. A few reasons I'm here:
1. I have a new, very dear gay male friend, and I am scared to death I'm going to screw it up with him because I have Asperger syndrome and am therefore constantly committing social faux pas. In fact, I'll be asking about a possible one in my next post.
2. Like straight males who like looking at lesbian stuff, I apparently like looking at male/male stuff. Unlike straight males who like lesbian stuff, I am more touched by it than turned on by it. Believe it or not. *shrugs* Also, when I look at the naked human form, I see it as a beautiful work of art, male or female. I enjoy pictures/movies that show loving encounters and/or natural poses where people appear relaxed and content, not trying to show off what they've got.
3. I write male/male slash fanfiction for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel the Series, mostly involving Spike and Angel but occasionally including Riley Finn, as well. I am also (and I hate that I got influenced into doing this, as it is something I thought I'd never do, considering both are definitely straight) going to write a James Marsters/David Boreanaz real-person slash piece at some point, as the plot has come to me. It's only going to involve kissing, but...still. I just feel very naughty writing it, particularly because David has so adamantly refused signing any slash manipulations people have handed him in autograph sessions....
4. I hope I will be accepted here because I am 100% for gay rights...all the way. I feel you should be allowed to join the church of your choice, that you are not sinners, that you should be allowed to adopt and/or have custody of children without question, that you should be able to get married (what right does anyone have to keep you from declaring your love, for Pete's sake?), that you should have the right to all things married couples do such as one mortgage, one checking account, one health insurance policy (I understand some are already getting this--YAY!), etc.
I am straight, but I am most certainly not narrow, even though my father most certainly is (the bastard) and I live in an ultraconservative rural area where all minority orientations, religions, and even races are at risk of discrimination and harassment.
*love and hugs*
