  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Street Art not funded by local residents is Vandalism [SPLIT]

So who cleaned up the mess...???
It certainly wasn't the self-deluded, so-called artist/vandals who took the body parts to the morgue.

Self-deluded, so-called artist/vandals believe in Entitlement, not in Responsibility to the people.

It's ridiculous and not only does some innocent person have to clean up the nonsense he's created but they also have to clean the train now too.

I think any addition to a wall depends on whether the owner of the wall deems the addition as 'art' or not, and by 'art' I mean is it sellable, like a Banksy.

WRT to ancient graffiti, the best ones were insults.

This piece of decadent nonsense likes to call itself "Public Art"

This female street artist is apparently painting herself naked in the streets as a form of art.

I say she's ruining the area with her mere presence.

Some of the shit that passes as art just baffles me.

It baffles me too, just like the woman I posted above who paints shit up and down her naked body and passes it off as art. What baffles me more is how the idiots surrounding her actually like it. If that's art then skid marks left in the public toilet by some fat guy may as well be art.

People going topless for art has been going on..... for centuries. Why is this thread so overly dramatic :S

And I bet if it was a naked man being painted, everyone would be outraged.

There is a time and a place for nudity. Someone painting their self in the middle of the street and passing it of as art is a load of old nonsense in my view.:##:

Sounds like an excuse to play up to the camera and i'm sure someone out there has allowed their dog to shit in the middle of the street and passed it of as street art before too.

It's perfectly legal where I am for a woman to go topless and not have it considered nudity, equality reasons from what I understand. Art has been and forever will be something so incredibly subjective. I say let however thinks something is art let them have their fun, if it's hate speech well it's hate speech and not art.

What if their art is smearing actual dog feces up the wall...???

Then if they do it to my wall I do/say to what any dog owner who lets their dog crap on my lawn, and that ain't pretty. This is a pretty extreme example that I would doubt a group of artists would take seriously as an art form and thus would not last... let alone start.

^ My point is that most of the artists aren't doing it as a form of art they are only out to vandalize and cause chaos on the streets. If they could get away with it, they would use any old excuse when questioned by the authorities and they would pretend they were smearing that dog shit up the walls as a form of street art. I'm glad the law in my country is there to prevent this from happening without a hefty fine otherwise theres nothing to stop the vandals from wiping their asses up the walls and passing the shit stains of as street art.

They are only out to ruin.

Saying your graffiti is art doesn't stop the police from charging you, so I don't understand your point. If you were smearing dog feces on the wall and call it art the cops are going to stop you and charge you. Do you also have some figures to back up that most artists aren't doing it as an art form? Is some grafitti on the wall actually causing chaos in the streets? For real man you're making these things so dramatic and unrealistic. Keep your head here, outside of fantasy land, we aren't all fabulous celebrities. After reading other posts by you, it seems that you just prefer to hear yourself talk, and it's very likely that I'm simply wasting my time here. I'm not on this forum to flame and criticism others, but it seems to be your main function here, so I thought I should just speak up.

Actually chavs have thrown (and splattered) dog shit up a wall before outside an off license a few years back so it isn't a fantasy. They too could call it art but it is nonsense.

So you admit to it being fantasy in the same sentence. As implied these people clearly did not call it art. Kids have been doing flaming dog poop trick for ages, and kids have flung poop on a wall for just as long. This has nothing to do with street art. You could have posted that in one post, your post count has little to do with who you are as a person. Quality/Quantity

Sure maybe in your opinion some of that street art looks like dog shit, but how do you think people get there start? Do they create wonderful works of art right from the get go? Have you yourself taken the time to learn a craft or some form of art? Over the years I'm sure the crappy stuff will be replaced by better looking art, or hey maybe someone worse will come along and paint over it, who knows.
