Parents accused of rewarding sons with pot

Sat Jun 10, 9:27 PM ET

Police have arrested two Chandler parents accused of giving marijuana to their young sons as a reward for good behavior.

Toni Lynn Carlson, 31, and Aaron Virgil Carlson, 23, were booked on suspicion of possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia, possessing marijuana for sale, contributing to the delinquency of minors and endangerment, police said Friday.

The couple were taken into custody Thursday night after detectives served a search warrant at their home and found a quarter-pound of marijuana.

Police said the boys — ages 12 and 11, and a 4-year-old girl — were in the care and custody of a family member.

The investigation began after authorities received tips from a neighbor about the possible usage and sale of drugs at the home, police said.

Detectives didn't know about the family possibly smoking marijuana together until the parents and children were interviewed.

Also under investigation is the possibility the Carlsons supplied drugs to other children, police said.

What ever happened to giving them a lollipop? Jeez.

Yes... but think about the snack budget. It'll be through the roof! ;)

My parents raised me right ;)

I didn't get treats for good things, I got spankings for doing bad things.

...but getting weed for a good job? INSANE. Hey mom, can I have a joint?

Is there a stupidity chromasome in the human genome or something? When I was growing up, I was verbally praised. I admit, I was spoiled when my parents bought me toys and stuff if I got good grades (the best compensation for lack of sublings, I guess), but let's be realistic!

Silly hippies...

I would be pissed if my Parents offered this to me, outsides of the stupidity. I would be like ' I want some fucking chocolate cake!'

Amen! Chocolate cake is good any time. ..|

What about 'special' brownies then? My aunt used to make those :p

I think I may be allergic to it. Whenever I'm exposed to smoke or someone I'm around has had some, my sinuses go haywaire instantly.

I always got hotwheels for a job well done. or a rock.

i liked to collect things. rocks were one of those things.

don't judge me.

There was a kid in my town who got busted for stealing his parents pot and dealing it at school.

What ever happened to natural selection getting idiots like these out of the gene pool?

As an adult, if you choose to use drugs, that's your business (I drink and smoke like a sumbitch). But, when children are involved and affected, it's called "child endangerment".

I hope the adults go to prison and the children are sent to foster care.

Parents turning their children into dope fiends! Obviously they never saw "Reefer Madness".
