Unfortunately, that just makes the world ugly.

Sanders supporters helped elect Trump by supporting a candidate who was too extreme to be electable by the middle of the electorate.

Clinton supporters helped elect Trump by backing another dynastic candidate, and one with high negatives well-known before any ruse about emails or such nonsense. It was an unsubtle clue that she lost to Obama, a junior member of the party who had not really risen to the level that should have gotten him elected yet.

Politics is a lot more than backing an icon who shares our values. It's backing a candidate who can get elected.

A lot of us on the left are also guilty of a sneering disregard for conservatives of every stripe, and that certainly helped to galvanize the Trump voters who had been simmering in waiting. When we and our rulers failed to find middle ground for years, we grew the monster of our nightmares, and now he is before us.

His role was a direct one....

He gave us deception so he could make a few more bucks. He sold his integrity and any trust anyone had in his company.....

I voted for Clinton with a perfectly clear conscience because she was a brilliant statesman It was my initial reason for choosing her..and easy conclusion for me to come to....

Statesmanship is THE most important attribute to have as President in my eyes and she was easily the most qualified and accomplished statesman to come along in recent times....

I used snopes and politifact constantly to debunk the crap I read...just in case I missed something because I already know she isn't a saint and it would be stupid not to check everyone out. I would re-point the finger to the people who repeated the lies and never bothered checking any of them....

His base...uh...the man speaks more in volumes for them than anything I could possibly say. After everything he has done and said..they still support him. I am paying attention...

If you cannot control yourself by posting private photos ... etc to the public and complain about it, it is your fault if things get out of hand.

To be fair, conservatives kind of make it easy to sneer at the when they're the ones that say things like wanting to stick a hot poker up a kids ass and all that. Conservatives are guilty on their own regard, not "the left", problem is people are ditching personal responsibility anymore. We're in control of our own actions and what we say, the left or right don't make us do anything, we choose to.

If private photos were the problem..I doubt there would even be a problem...

Just this past month he was in the process of gaining all of our private medical records for public consumption..and selling this info to the highest bidder...

I am forming an opinion based on the whole picture...and it isn't a pretty one.

This is totally not the reason why Zuckerberg and Facebook are in trouble.
 
Oh, he is just so sincere, humble and repentant, isn't he? If it weren't for this mess, he'd still be doing the same thing because, you know, 60 billions dollars is not enough for him. Just like with the suit, he was groomed to the max and how to appear remorseful and willing to make changes. Greedy, selfish assholes who don't care who gets taken advantage of are always ugly to me.

I don't use FB either but the annoying fact is they admit to collecting data on non-users! GGRRRRR
 
It's already too late......

Today I get a call from a rental in Hawaii...the only place I mentioned Hawaii and the beaches in the recent past are right here on this board last week.

I have never been solicited at all on my cell phone... and now..every day...it is a nightmare.

I don't think it was necessarily the board itself.....

There is alot of competition for info to sell to advertisers and companies so probably every Internet Giant will be in on the cash flow soon enough..and they will be the ones following you around like some of them already do paying attention to key words and interests...

...which seems invasive but innocent enough...it's what comes after that which will be the problem.

I am glad I am old....I feel sorry for the people who will grow up in a world where they will be manipulated 24/7 and have no privacy at all.

The "what if's" are alarming....and this is not a tin foil hat moment. It is very real.
