Also wondering if there's any naked hiking groups in the area? I think most people into this do it for "naturist" reasons rather than anything sexual, but would really love to find some trails i could hike long distances naked either way - it's still a total thrill for me, especially if i can be seen by others.

NEWT Naked European Walking Tours from the Naktiv site above
In 2005 I walked naked across the European Alps starting in Germany, going through Austria, and ending in Italy. This walk, which took 5 days, is described here in the Newt 2005 article, a short version was published in the September issue of the H&E Naturist magazine, and there's an online version at Isabelle's beautiful site. Apart from being a fantastic walk, this also got me the dubious privilege of an entry in the Naked World Records database. Being the first man to cross the European Alps naked was not enough to get me into the Guiness book of records though - they are not interested in nudity - yet Newt reports can also been seen elsewhere online:

A similar walk was repeated as Newt 2006, Newt 2007 and Newt 2008, with company, and the current plan is to organise another naked alpine hike in the summer of 2009. If anyone wishes to come along, here is the current plan for the next Newt (2011), simply register your interest by sending me an email: newt.2011[at]naktiv.net. NB. This is not a private/secret nudist club walk. Please don't be motivated to come along by the photos on these pages and then complain that you don't want your photo taken - I'm not interested - anyone coming on a Newt explicitly accepts the idea that we will be taking photos of these adventures, and we will then publish them to encourage others to do likewise. Naturally we take into consideration such points as "this is my good side", "please don't do a close-up of the pimple on my nose", and similar reasonable requests. While the next route might be somewhat different, the current date and plans are:

Various day walks are planned, none of which will be too strenous so as to encourage lighter walkers, throughout the week, but you should still be walking fit. The route will be somewhere amongst the central European Alps, possibly using a fixed hut base, or tents. The precise plan is variable depending on circumstances, including group capabilities, weather etc.
Anyone is welcome to join for a part of a day, or for the entire walk, dressed or undressed, however their time, commitment or inclination allows. The preferred intention is to do all walks completely naked except for essential walking boots, sun hats and rucksacks. The exception to this is when going through towns and villages, when walking on made-up roads, (the unofficial but very effective tarmac rule), or when in a gasthof or restaurant. If anyone is uncertain as to dress code, or how to join in, please do not hesitate to send me an email for clarification - I/we aim to make this easy for people. Please note that this is not a protest march, this is merely a walk through a fantastic chunk of our environment with less encumbarage than most people consider necessary.
There are many people getting into naked walks, and outdoor activities of all kinds, individuals, families and groups, from all sorts of cultural backgrounds, right across Europe and the rest of the world. See the hiking, cycling and ridinglinks for further info.

Freehiked Deep Creek in so. Cal. Last Friday. Two miles in and two miles out all nude. I write this while relaxing nude, after a skinny dip, In a remote area by a river. Most rivers create natural sand beaches by their banks, so it is like thebeach, but isolated and free of onlookers and or gawkers. Mud baths by these riverbanks are invigorating, then making the skinny dip more exhilirating!! Try it u will like it!!

I have hiked nude in Yosemite National Park and it was great. I found a small waterfall and got in. Something I have always wanted to do. The sun on my body and the cold water was so fantastic. Just below the falls the water pooled and I was able to soak up the experience. I hike nude whenever the opportunity comes up.

I have hiked and mountain biked nude on a few occassions and look forward to the opportunity to do it again. My favorite is hiking in the rain. The feeling of the cool random raindrops is unlike any other. After shedding the clothing, it's not long before it feels completely normal. The worse thing about the entire experience is knowing it has to end. I dread that time of having to get dressed.

There is hardly anything that compares to the feeling of being naked. Most of the time when I am naked in nature it will be when I am alone. I do prefer company, but do not find myself in an environment where it is easy to make contact with others who also prefer going naked. Wearing clothes just feels tireing after you have experienced what it feels like going around naked. I would be walking somewhere and suddenly realize that the opportunity to go naked exists and just strip there and then. Enjoy your freedom!

I enjoy hiking in the nude, free and feel whole with Nature, the Earth and the Sky. Its an overwhelming feeling of Joy. Having to do this in secret, almost hiding, does not feel right at all to me, but our Society has not understood that yet. I wish i knew more of those places where I could hike freely without meeting any clothes hikers or rangers.

I spent two days hiking nude in a California State Park. The only person I saw was a ranger that drove by on a backroad, he just waved and kept going. Good thing he didn't ask me to put my shorts back on, I didn't realize I had accidentally dropped them a couple miles back. Oops! Found them on the way out the next day. A nude hike to a backcountry lake for a swim is the only way to go!

Been freehiking for a couple of years. Nothing more enjoyable than the freedom of enjoying the great outdoors with nothing inhibiting all the sensations the environment has to offer. The fact that I have also lost 30lbs is a bonus. (not including the clothes I highly recommend it to all hiking enthusiasts.

There is a great nude hike in Southern California to Deep Creek Hot Springs. It's about 2 miles from the parking lot to the hot springs, and you can do all of it nude, then soak in the hot springs. What is CMNM?

2) Another big one is the BDSM - bondage and discipline

3) Innocent or accidental buddy CMNM -- these are situations where gay and/or often straight men are unintentionally or accidentally nude or perhaps sometimes acceptably naked in front of other clothed men: camping, sports teams, the gym locker room, communal showers, etc

I seem rarely to find anybody online when I try to use the iPhone apps FFM (Free Foto Messenger) and Knocking Video app (username: sunbuns) Maybe that's not the real reason..... but... anyway.


By the way, when will some of the other big gay sites get into the act? I mean isn't it time that Justusboys.com and Gay.com started their own web app (or iPhone app) - hopefully the former rather than the later.

Nowadays, I am enjoying the new Dudesnude Web app (optimized for the iPhone) and also the new Adam4adam.com Web app. In both of them, unlike regular iPhone apps, there is nothing to download since it's a browser site. They show locations of guys near you, messages, and also allow R and x-rated photos (which Apple bans on any iTunes apps). lots to choose from, but if you like an outdoor bath surrounded by snow, head north from Tokyo to the Tohoku area. i once went to a hot spring with a geyser just a couple of meters from the outdoor bath and snow all around. i think it was in Miyagi prefecture but i can't remember the name of it right now.
or if you hate the cold, head to Kyushu: Nagasaki and Kagoshima. Kunisaki peninsula. For culture and history check out Kyoto and Nara, only a fairly short train ride apart, and not so far from Osaka and Kobe.

A lot of the Japanese hot springs are in hotels, so they're for the hotel guests. but there are some baths run by local city or town administrations. these don't usually have much of a rest area, just a space for changing.
But there's a big variety in style and cost, so look around. ask as information offices (at railway stations etc). Last time i was in japan in autumn there were a lot of flyers offering inexpensive packages at hot spring hotels. it's worth checking each place out a bit before committing yourself.
I just tried searching for "japan hot spring guide" on amazon.com, and it looks as though they have some useful options.

If you visit Nikko (Toshogun Shrine, Chuzenji Lake and falls), or Hakone, a lake near the foot of Mt. Fuji, both of which are just a couple of hours by train from Tokyo, you can still have time to squeeze in a quick visit to a hot springs. Some of the onsen resorts nationwide have outdoor hot spring baths, called 'rotenburo,' which gives you the thrill of being naked outside, relaxing in the hot water, and getting to see nude Japanese men (most often draping the ubiquitous long hand towel in front).
Japanese love bathing in groups so much that many hotels in urban areas have 'ofuro' which they call 'onsen' (hot mineral springs) - although the water is usually piped in or the minerals are added on site.

You can get the feel of what a traditional hot springs bath is like without having to go so far afield. In a few cases, there are 'onsen' in urban areas, and also at ski resorts or recreation areas where you might be going to visit anyway.
Actually, a few public baths still operate in major cities (and smaller towns) where you can can get nearly the same experience for under $5. Take your own towel, and toiletries.

Finally, if you're interested in having or seeing gay sex. You might consider visiting one of the all-male saunas in either Tokyo or Osaka (there may be some in smaller cities as well). In Tokyo, 24-Kaikan is the most famous, and the one is Shinjuku 3 (san)-chome is clean and active. It's also a hotel so you could even stay the night - although there are shared bunk bed rooms which your $24 locker (12 hour stay) will allow you to rest. There is a large Japanese style bath in most all the sauna, but also showers stalls with glory holes. The largest one in Osaka is called Hokuokan, and could be said to be bigger than Tokyo's.

It's an interesting 'research' question, and one that is particular relevant to me since I live in Japan and visit onsen from time to time, and an all-male gay sauna pretty regularly. I have also posted these pics from Queerclick (giving them full credit) on my Gay Asian Man porn blog

Therefore, since I do visit 'onsen', I wonder when my own naked self in a Japanese hot springs bath/resort may appear somewhere on the Net - without my permission. P.S. I have dozens and dozens of photos depicting my own nudity that I've uploaded myself to various sites over the years, but those were given out with my recognition of the risks.

There is also a few other possible explanations for where these originated.

One of the large gay porn sites and gay porno producers may be selling off these kinds of photos as their commericial material. They could be actually stills or videos collected from video surveillance cameras located in the onsen resort and then leaked or sold to a porn company. The men in the photos (participants) don't appear to even know that their photos are being taken. Japanese act very differently when they are being photographed (nude or not). I have hundreds of candid photos of Japanese guys clowning around and attempting to cover themselves all the while putting on sometime outlandish stunts and gags while undressed partly or fully in the company of their male peers. I find it keenly interesting to observe and have written and shared photos and blog anecdotes about this homoerotic behavior many times (elsewhere).

So ... someone could be a subscribing member of one of those sites or is making still digital photos from the video footage or taking them from a subscription only website inside Japan. Photos depicting clearly visible photos for male and female (frontal) genitalia are illegal in Japan in any form or any media. That's the reason there are 'mosaic' coverings over the penises.

Another possibility is that anyone can make a contribution for photos to Queerclick through its Sticky section of their website. In fact, they ask for submissions and give out an email where viewers can send them.
In Sticky there are some regular contributors - one of whom may actually living in Japan and taking the photos himself (covertly). I couldn't pass as Japanese (being a middle-aged caucasian male) so taking photos of nude guys in the onsen or public baths or saunas would most likely be frowned on and a cause for being banned.

Many of this series of photos appears to be taken from the same location. (Note: the photo in the upper left seems like a genuine private photo (or at least NOT intended for gay male porn sites). Often, hot spring resorts and mineral baths have outdoors pools (and sometimes ornate Japanese gardens), therefore, it could possibly be easier to someone to hide behind a huge rock or tree in the garden and get these shots without being seen.

While it doen't have any direct connection, I learned something about onsen and how public baths have evolved in the Japan during the last 10 years.

Lastly, I just learned recently that there are actually 58 location in central Tokyo alone where you can bath in hot mineral spring bath (although the water may be piped or trucked in for some of them, it's still natural spring mineral water, without being added artificially (or so they claim). The chief mineral in most all of them is salt. Some of them have equal or greater salinity than sea water.

I went to one of them the other night about 9:00pm since the price is greatly reduced for night time visits (open from 9am to midnight), and I was impressed by the relative spacious facilities (huge vaulted ceiling), various types of baths and temperatures, and a nice outdoor rock bath (rotenburo). No.. I did NOT bring my camera or cellphone. But there were some nice looking men - ages ranging from college kids to 30s salarymen, and nice-looking men in their 40s or so. It's pretty stimulating when a 20-something comes and lies down naked next to you in the reclining bath. These are guys not 'gay' at all (or at least visibly), and these are basically like the old public bathhouses prevalent from feudal times until the mid-60s and 70s where the owner sat at the entrance to take the few yen, and could watch both the men and the women as they undressed and put their clothes in the lockers.
Nowadays, Japanese men and women might go as a family and then separate into the two side of the onsen building. Sometimes you can hear the women talking and laughing on the other side, but I have found that men who use these onsen type ofuro (baths) in the city usually come alone, and therefore don't converse easily with strangers. In the case of onsens in resort areas, urban dwellers usually go in groups of 2 - 15 men on a excursion with friends or a company retreat, so there is much more camaraderie, boisterous conversation, and sometimes a little sexy antics - especially if alcohol has been consumed for their entering the bath.

The exception at the urban onsen might be the wet steam sauna. Although it was quite big and could hold 30-40 bodies, and there were more people in it than in the rest of the baths at any one point, most people sat on the tile slabs nude and just relaxed. It was fun to get a nice view of several nude Japanese men in repose together
Maybe this says that (some) Japanese men at the bath were simply wanting to loose weight in the sauna, but it also might means that there is more of the naked body visible others when everyone is not sitting immersed in hot water, so that why more men had gathered there.

I could go on about the gay baths and saunas, but as you expect, those are pretty much similar to the ones in any country (I assume - since I haven't been to ones everywhere), but I have seen quite a lot.

I do like to get to some fairly remote places, where you can be reasonably assured of not being 'spung', and yes I'm the same - wouldn't quite be brave enough otherwise. Though sometimes it's not really the remoteness that matters. Half an hours walk off the track is often as untrammeled as somewhere that is deep in the forest but on a recognised path. Anyway, it will be interesting to see what others with more experience of organised 'clothing optional' venues come up with.

It is a very nice facility with lots of room for tenting, rv'ing, sleeper cabin rentals and bed and breakfast rooms. You're obviously more interested in a clothing optional experience and finding a place to do that with other men (hopefully gay males) for an extended period of time - not just a few minutes or hours.

However, there is one place no too far away from KY (ky_gui = Kentucky Guy ?), but who's living in Iowa.

Timberfell Lodge is clothing optional resort and campground in the foothills of the Appalachians (about 80 miles east of Knoxville.)
They only have weekend events in the winter (rooms and bunks bed are sometimes half price, but in summer it's a full time gay camping community with a lot of social / sex-related events. I'd say the main type of guy you find there are bears, but that's not all you'll find. It's almost clothing optional everywhere -- although sex acts are forbidden in common areas, there are plenty of dark and deserted spots -- especially at night. Campsite are $15 a night plus choice of 2-3 meal plans. There sell beer inside the resort which means you can't bring it,but you can BYOB wine and hard liquor.

There are also other options / places where you can get naked and possibly engage in cruising for sex. Most of the nude beaches around the country have gay cruising areas. Like it or not, that's likely one reason for the crack-down on clothing optional public beaches in quite a few places across the country.

Being able to camp textile (required clothes) and then walk to a nude beach is a good option - but quite rare except in Europe or at all-gay c-o resorts.

and Provincetown (Cape Cod,Mass) - although there has evidently been a crackdown on public nudity (by anyone) at the famous Herring Cove (state beach) that is 15 minute walking distance from P-town. That's what I used to do. Camp among clothed at night, spend all day among the naked during the day .
There's a commercial campground with easy walking distance of P-town (out on Hwy 6), Dunes' Edge Campground, and you can walk, bike or drive from there to Herring Cove Beach. I've heard that people still get nude at the P-town beach, but they have to be discreet because the park rangers patrol often and hand out tickets (or worse) to naked men in the sand dunes. Most everywhere they are more tolerant of non-sexual nudism, particularly where there are mixed groups.

Overseas there are many more....

Big Island (Hawaii) Kalani is a gay-owned, and nudity friendly retreat for all types -more focused on spiritual, yoga, and new age trends, the pool area in clothing optional after 4pm , and there is the famous Kehena Beach (also clothing optional and alternative / new age oriented, with a wonderful assortment of naked people from every age and walk of life.
Kalani has accommodations from camping to villa suites, meal plans or pay as you go are options.

The world's largest nude beach and sand dudes (gay cruising area) is at Maspalomas (at Playa del Ingles on southern end of the island of Gran Canaria).
That 's where I'm headed for the 5th time next month (March 15-22).. I'm not camping but staying at a two-hotel hotel for about $30 a night (self-catering), sex city at night and sunshine and naked male skins for days on the beach.
Men cruising the dunes are aged 40+ and higher so not everybody's preference.

I also share David's (atitlan) enthusiastic
memories of the Island of Gran Canaria
described below. However, mine are much
more recent ones because I have visited it
every March since 2005 (except for last year).
In fact, I went there again in March. It was
refreshing to return to the dunes of Maspalomas
to find it basically unchanged and just as cruisy
- both in the dunes and in the Yumbo Center,
the main commercial shopping area, and
exhibition stage.

I also saw many cases of exactly what he
describes below. I saw for myself the phenomenon:
Straight (seemingly at least) guys who go out into
the dunes away from the crowds of either clothed
or nude sunbathers along the beach to take a few
private naked photos. It was interesting to watch
- although I hesitated to take any photos of two
straight guys taking candid nude pics of each other.
Besides, there were plenty of other 'distracting'
activities going on in the dunes and the bushy
stands of tree found in the low areas between them.

These are almost certainly the dunes between
the resorts of Maspalomas and Playa del Ingles
on the south coast of Gran Canaria in the Spanish
Canary Islands off the African coast. We have posted

t I - Cruising public toilets in Tokyo's train stations.

I went out shopping yesterday afternoon (April 21) - as horny as hell. I had the intention of dropping by the gay sauna after hitting some electronics store, but then decided to stop in at the 'friendly' men's room on the basement (B1) floor of the largest train station. I went to the men's WC inside the ticket gate - since there are mulitple train and subway platforms in the station and that necessitates having several public restrooms. But there is also one outside the ticket guichet, among the various subterrenean shops sprawling out under the city's largest transportation hub.

The first one was pretty much quiet with no apparent action. So I went out through the wicket and out in the underground mall and proceeded to the next public restroom for men.

Wow! It was crowded and hopping with guys, several of whom looked
like their crotches were glued to the urinals, and their heads were turning, trying to get a look at either the next guy's dick or they were craning their heads to get a glimpse of cock further along the row of about 15-18 urinals. Just to my right, there were about 6 more guys standing at the pissoires (in this case, individual white ceramic urinals). I could tell there were several of them on the prowl.

These really look like almost any public restrooms in Japan except that about a millon people come through the station every weekday and a portion of them stop by these restrooms - not always just to piss or take a dump. Even in Shinjuku station in broad daylight, I've seen guys reach over and grab another's cock. I have to say that such behavior is not normal but is happening because it's pretty obvious why the several guys are hanging out a lot longer in the public toilet than to just take a piss.
Nowadays, there are security guards (men and women) who patrol the corridors and public restrooms. There is a sign posted (in Japanese) to notify people that there are security patrols and that 'inappropriate' or suspcious behavior should be reported to the station staff.
Nevertheless, the cruising goes on relentlessly.

I have just joined a gay social networking and news media site for men in Asian called Fridae.com - one of their tribes (discussion groups) is the Nudist and Naturalist Networks. Here is what I added to several responses concerning: Where in Asian can a guy go to a nudist beach?

In Japan, there are only two places where guys (mostly gay men) go as a nude beach (one in Chiba, and the other is a deserted spot on Shonan Beach). Neither are well known by the general public partly because they are so hard to find, and far from Tokyo. Also, it's not like Black's Beach or ones in other Westernized countries, people get naked very discreetly even on a supposedly nude beach. They generally wear swimwear when walking around or when in the water, but remove their clothes while lying in the sun.

The next best thing to a nude beach then is a hot springs resort or a public bathing spa, the latter of which there are over 50 in Tokyo. In these, men and women have separate bathing areas. Often, there is a small outside areas (enclosed by a fence for privacy) where the naked men can soak in a pool of mineral waters or lounge naked or draped in a towel. Inside, there are various types of baths, but the men are usually totally naked when walking to and from each pool and when they sit on stools at individual showers for washing body and hair. Many of them have wet and dry saunas. So, despite their being little interest in nude beaches, Japanese are often fond of such warm mineral baths, and even travel to stay in the many areas of the country where there are nice resort hotels grouped around these hot springs, such as Hakone.

However, you don't have to go far from any metropolitan area to enjoy the same atmosphere of men enjoying being naked. Formerly, there were the old-fashioned public baths or 'sento' in every neighorhood, which have just about disappeared these days, being replaced by large, more modern and luxurious: bathing resort (or 'onsen' - hot springs bath or spa). The water has a higher content of minerals, particularly sodium (salt) and it's either brought in or created, but in sometimes comes naturally from the ground as Japan is a set of volcanic islands, also prone to earthquakes, as everyone knows.


Well... for those in Malaysia or Singapore, and other places where there are not naked places, you can do what I often do: Make your own nude beach by just getting naked where the general public cannot see (easily).
I love being naked outdoors and often do so when there is a patch of land or a bushy area along side a river or a section of recreational land. If men are already sunbathing someplace, then just find a more hidden place in the same area and take it a step further: remove all your clothes and cover your privates. When no one is around, you can remove the covering.

In my trips to Thai, Singapore and Malaysia, I can recall a few places where this might happen, such as Sentosa Island, or a bit further afield - take a ferry or boat to one of the Indonesian islands not far from Singapore. There are surely some deserted beaches as well along Malaysia's southern coast, perhaps on Tioman Island (as there are plenty of foreigners), and also in East Malaysia (Sarawak), I was able to get naked inside the Bako National Park both inland and at any of many deserted beaches. Guides on individually hired boats can take you to a certain point, and pick you up later.

I realize that an important element may be missing when you simply go out and get naked alone. One of the most fun things about nude beaches is not only about being seen in the nude. It's also the chance to see others (especially men) in all their naked glory. You can't always do both at the same time. There must be places and events where men in various Asian countries are naked or dressing / undressing so take advantages of those spots even if you can't be naked yourself at the same time.

couldn't manage to find the entrance and when they finally did, the

although they described ascending a more than 45 degree inclined
stairway with little or no railing in the middle of night. The climb

Although I had heard that they existed, I have actually never been to Kugenuma and Kotsubo (also cruising or gay hookup spots).

iPhone or Android Apps and the increased appearance of X-rated Web apps for gay men

Does anyone else use the IPhone app- Free Foto Messenger? (FFM) A fellow Dudesnude members says "I'm into it in a big way at the moment. It's great way to trade live pics and chat. I have also become intrigued to find out what iPhone apps for gay connections will work, and how well they do so.
FFM (Free Foto Messenger) might become popular. Reviews, however, are ranting badly on the March update version; but so far so good for those who had downloaded a previous version. I often test iphone apps for several different markets and also different regions/areas of the globe. BREAKING NEWS: A new update of FFM was released April 21, 2010 - it seems to have fixed the problems mentioned earlier. Try it out for yourself.



So you find some more info below (and to be updated continuously in the weeks to come) as I try out gay iPhone apps

About FFM, Since you have to 'know' people already to actually chat - it's not so great for 'cruising' or casual hookups. There are other ones where that works well listed below. Normally in a good Iphone app, you can see the person's profile (m/f, age, location (general or specific), time online (or last time), Some allow choice of sexual preferences: Select a gay apps or a mixed one and then filter for gay men) to find local (or global) guys, and then start a chat - if things match up). Sooshi could have great potential because you can also search in a specific area by 'putting' yourself at a remote location.



So if you are going to be traveling soon, you can hunt for guys ahead (as you can do here on Dudesnude), but they can be online and ready to chat. Unfortunately, almost all but Grindr don't have many locals members - who are active and online. I've also used Grindr (probably the best iPhone app for hookup / making local gay friends) as many people have, but there are several others (see below). Wouldn't it be great if GWIP (Guys With Iphones, the site) and Grindr could be combined? Wow!

Take a look at these other apps when you have time: Purpll (prone to problems with finding locations outside US, allows private pics, also has a website for PC access), PinkMap (mainly for Europe but some global users too, no nudity allowed, has a website too), Gd Beta (nice format, allows 3 public and 2 private pics, local guys online), SpeedDate (requires subscription for any real info - irritating), Skout (recently greatly improved to compete with Grindr), Whoshere, Sooshi, Brightkite, Twitxr, ( both are location-based Twitter spinoffs, updates can broadcast in local area - but u risk getting 'outed' or harassed if public messages are too sexy or pornog. )

Knocking Video (already popular here on DN), Gaydar Light (doesn't work on my iPhone - other?), Aka-aki (gay & straight, based in Europe - slowly growing, but has some problems, cool 'sticker' system to form like-minded groups), Facetime2 (crashes often), I'm still trying out Dokami, and Foursquare for gay connections and usability. NOTE* Some of the above social networking apps are NOT for gay men only. You have to add your gender pref or search/filter for gay men/age etc to locate guys. Some do or don't have push notifications, although they all have free versions.


Anybody else into testing iPhone apps? I'm going to add some guys here posted your FFM ids here. It's for testing purposes - I'm not trying to hookup (at least at the moment). Besides, I live too far away now.

I seem rarely to find anybody online when I try to use the iPhone apps FFM (Free Foto Messenger) and Knocking Video app (username: sunbuns) Maybe that's not the real reason..... but... anyway.

Web Apps

A useful alternative to iPhone apps (or also Android, Blackberry, Windows Mobile apps) that have to be downloaded and have restrictions on the content that is allowed (especially use of nude self-pics) is a web app. Web apps work right inside a browser. Safari on the iPhone can access your location, so you can still find out who is 'near' you, and also upload a more appealing profile pic or pics (nudity is allowed).

I have been enjoying the new Dudesnude Web app (optimized for the iPhone) for a long time. Also, in 2010, the new Adam4adam.com Web app called Radar A4A was introduced.
In both of them, unlike regular iPhone apps, there is nothing to download since it's a browser site alone. If you are member (free) of Dudesnude.com ( http://www.dudesnude.com ) or Adam4adam.com ( http://radar.adam4adam.com ), you can just visit their web app sites and log-in.

They show locations of guys near you, messages, etc, and also web apps allow R-rated and X-rated photos (which Apple bans on any iTunes apps it provides through the iTunes Store). Of course, they are both connected to real websites, too, so you can get double the value.

LATEST NEWS: Manhunt has just released (Nov 21, 2011) its own web app: http://m.manhunt.net
Manhunt also has both iPhone and Android apps, but there's a bit of improvement when it comes to using web app.

There have been a couple of threads about various iPhone apps for meeting guys and possibly hooking up - at least for chatting, sharing pics or even webcam vids (taken with the iphone).
I think the jury is still out on Knocking Live Video (KLV). The main problem is that someone you might want to Knock (KLV) or be Knocked by isn't online. The KLV iphone app has to be running (or so it appears) before you can receive a 'knock'.
Free Foto Messenger (FFM) works somewhat better, but then you have to know someone's ffm ID first in order to 'chat' and exchange pics. Grindr and a few others allow you to see who's around your location and then you can chat or message them (depending on whether they are online or not).

There are also other sites for iphone web-camming apps. Have you tried Ustream Broadcaster? http://www.ustream.tv/mobile/broadcaster You can broadcast live video from an iPhone. It will send out a Twitter tweet to alert your followers when it starts. The video can be saved on your iPhone or on the website. Each user receives free webspace (and shortened URL) for storing his mobile videos which can be viewed directly from that site (on a PC/Mac). If live, people can also comment and Twitter to you (the broadcaster).

Using TWITTER as a 'message' board.

If you write a #TAG in your tweet (a key word preceded by a number sign/sharp sign)-- such as #dudesnude or #ustream (or #gustream = 'gay ustream', etc).

Then people (your Twitter followers or friends or even strangers) can search for those #key words (tags) in Twitter or in Twubs.com so see who is broadcasting.
In fact, you use alert anonymous gay guys (and everybody else too) if you are currently logged on to: #dudesnude, #grindr, #KLV, #cam4, #ffm by using these TAGS in your tweets. Twitter tags are searchable and you can also use some other iPhone apps or websites to see WHO is using those tags in your own geographic area -- leading to possible hookups or making new friends locally. Be sure to update your Twitter to add photo, profile info (username or your web profile, cam4 profile, username for ffm or KLV (Knocking Live Video) or DN profile, etc).

If more people start using the TAGs in Twitter, then it will become clear who's online and ready to Knock, FFM or Skype, or other video webchat / iphone apps.

By the way, the iPhone app does NOT have to be one specifically for gay men's social networking. There are several micro-blog (update status) sites with corresponding iPhone apps which would allow like-minded guys to find each other and possibly hook-up. Among these are: Brightkite, Twixtr, http://twitxr.com/ or one of the location-based social networking apps, such as FourSquare, among others.

Here's just one idea. There are a lot a social networking apps (and usually a corresponding website) that's based around making friends via your own location. One popular one is called BrightKite.com It might be a good way to actually to to hook up with other CMNM members (and similar minded guys on other groups) for casual (spontaneous) or planned hook-ups or encounter, or just a cup of coffee.

Here's how Brightkite works: Using a PC or your cellphone, you 'check in' to a location - be as specific or as general as you want. You can allow 'friends' or even the public to see your short tweets (160 characters messages (similar to Twitter) posted from that location. Other members can also see who is nearby (within 20 feet (6m) to a 4 kilometer radius(6.4 mile). Your posts can include photos too (from your mobile phone) and it integrates posts with Twitter, Flickr, and Facebook. You can check for updates, set you check-in location also by cellphone. You can also put a Twitter 'widget' module in your profile (here on webcam or other profiles) to let other know where you are and what you're doing.

Give it a try. My BrightKite 'friendstream' is at http://brightkite.com/people/sunbuns although you won't be able to see much with first becoming my 'friend' on Brightkite.com I have also put a Twitter widget on my Webjam profile page - so you can see the results. You'd have to be a 'friend' to see the exact locations.

There are some other cool tools on Brightkite that integrate with Brightkite and Twitter data - such as Brightkite Google Earth (download KML object), and Brightkite Wall.

I just got back home from an extended vacation/business/family visit. I was able to visit several cool places and some gay saunas & bath houses, too.

Most recently was Flex Atlanta. Abe (above) reports that the one is Phoenix was too dark for his tastes; however, Flex Atlanta was quite different. Actually, it was one of the more exciting ones I've been to in a while - although it was just a Tuesday night in Atlanta.

I was impressed most by the size and layout of the place. For me, being able to sunbathe nude and erect, or to have sex outdoors is a big turn on.

Flex Atlanta is a little known enclave that can boast an outdoors lawn with chaise lounges just next to a busy expressway (I-75) and almost in the shadow for the Olympic Torch Monument and several skyscrapers. I did wonder a bit if the people in the high rises could (or would) actually be looking down on Flex's sexual garden. The staff was helpful and friendly; there was free Internet access (although I don't think free wifi), and both a gym and pool (although the water condition was excellent it was nice to swim in later March, and sunbathe naked in the afternoon. The place didn't get hopping but it had free parking and also in-out privileges, twice in the 8-hour that your entrance fee pays for. There's an Arby's at the corner so you can get food before entering or take a break to go for take out.

The cost was quite good too compared to other baths. ($15 or $20 rooms, $10 lockers but 50% off on Tuesdays) although there is an additional day membership (or longer more economical ones, too). There is a large glory hole section, a lounge and exercise gym, but not much secluded open space to watch the 3-4 porn videos constantly playing except in the hallways. The showers, steam and dry saunas are adequate but a bit old and most people wore sandals because I suspect that athlete's foot fungus abounds. There are many places to sit either except inside the saunas or outside, although there is a small semi-secluded smoking area near the entrance.
It's really worth a try if you are in the Atlanta area. I am wondering now if they will rent out the facility or at least parts of it for a private gatherings, like an club orgy or maybe a CMNM sexual role-play event - just a thought.

However, what makes it a must-return sexual rendezvous for me was the fact that I could stay the night and also use one of my two out privileges (leaving the place without giving up the room) and visit Swinging Richard's all-male strip bar about 15 minutes away by car. Tuesdays is also reduced entry to Swinging Richard's and you'll more then enjoy the hot beefy hunks, chocolate skinned thugs, manly dudes and cute twinks who dance until very late (3 am?) and eager offer to give you public lap dances at your table, semi-private and also very private lap dances.

I have to say that I really appreciate the dance naked Tucker. He wasn't all that young but he seemed so totally geniune and liked what he was doing unlike several of the male dancers. Tucker has an unbelievable smile and charm about him that have kept up his popularity even while his body is showing the signs of advancing gradually to his middle years. More importantly, he has a good personality and seems to know how to please men without being condescending or pretentious. I wasn't drunk at all so I'm NOT raving about Tucker from the effects of a drunk stupor. There were also quite a few men of color: Black, Hispanic and maybe even Middle Eastern (or Greek). Tucker is blond, VGL, and white, but I don't hold that against him (smile). The two young 18+ twinks were really hot, but once I had tasted Tucker's manly desires (no I didn't go for the private lap dance ($140 minimum for 15 minutes), I simply could not even look at the other boys, except, of course, when they were on stage in various stages of undress until full nudity (some of the dancers did not go for the Full Monty). I hope Tucker hears about this and reads my review. Contact me if you do. I'd love to take a raincheck on a separate date with you, Tucker.

Read more reviews elsewhere about Swinging Richard's. I thoroughly enjoyed being rubbed and fondled by a naked hunky man in the VIP lounge. Yes, it's all about cash.. but I admit that it was incredibly fun spending it in this way. I was certainly heated up by the time I returned for a late-night fuck-a-thon back again at Flex. Not surprisingly, there was plenty of sexually unsatisfied men who had hung around until 8am so that I had plenty of reason to get up and get more action from 6am-8am the day I left Atlanta fully satisfied with many blowjobs (given and gotten) and plenty of ass too (yes, both ways). The guy who brought me off early Wed morning wanted to get fucked through a glory hole.
