Superman Returns Sequel

The sequel was supposed to get scrapped to give way for the Justice League Movie (which won't feature Batman - - a good idea in my book), but now, I hear it's back on track.

Please bring Darkseid. Or Brainiac. Heck, bring in Emma Frost, just let there be some goddamned action this time.

Superman Returns was a great movie. I really enjoyed it.

I'll look forward to the sequel. ..|

... and let Joel Schumacher direct the movie !!!... we need some good shots on Superman's ass !!!...

I guess I'm in the minority cause I thought Superman Returns stunk big time. Oh, the effects were top notch, but that was to be expected, and in the end that's all it had.

The story dragged ass and was boring. The characters were so bland it was like watching cardboard act. Luthor's big scheme of selling hotels on a giant Kryptonite rock was so rediculous it was actually an insult to the character.

And Superman was rendered so weak just by walking a few meters across it's surface Luthor was able to kick his ass barehanded, yet just a few minutes later was able to fly the entire mini-continent into space? Please. And don't even get me started on Super-brat.

A new Superman movie needs to start with an entirely new continuity. Trying to pick up after the classic Chris Reeve movies is futile and self defeating.

Sorry guys... that movie sucked ass.

Superman was reduced to creepy stalker flying around Lois Lane's house and listening into her private life, the story was ridiculous, the action sequences were laughable and implausable and the ending was just inane.

I'm ashamed to have seen that mess.... why is it that gay men are all raving about such a travesty?

the only way to make it worse.

Joel Schumacher is the worst director ever. Everything he touches turns to fetid waste.

Because they wanted to see if the rumors were true about his huge package being digitally enhanced so there was nothing there.

Also I didn't see the movie because of him, I find him to be ewwww material. I liked it because I always liked Superman even back in the old days of when Christopher Reeves played him.

The 1st was a waste of film doesn't warrant a second because if you watched the original Superman which wasn't all that u saw Returns pure laziness on the writers and Singer's part.

Hmmn. Let me thing about that.

Now what could it be???

Thank you someone in the world like me who didn't like the film. I thought I was the only one. (!)

Oh, I thought MOST people didn't like it. I dont' know anyone who did, and I saw it with a big group.

Most people just thought the story was slow and boring... some thought that the real estate thing was just silly ( who'd want to live on an eternally growing hunk of green rocks?) and a lot of people pointed out the silly Wily-Coyote like action sequences (Lois Lane would have most likely been dead or at the very least incapacitated after the beating she took in the opening scene, but she just got up, brushed herself off and said "yeah, I'm fine." And what were a bunch of reporters doing on a Nasa test flight anyway?)

I thought the fact that Superman was stalking her was so creepy I didn't know how to react.

That thing at the end was silly too... if just standing on the island makes him so powerless that normal men can knock himover, he woudln't be able to pick the whole island up and throw it out into space.

The thing with the kid was silly too. If he had "super powers" enough to throw a piano across a room, woudln't he have kinda shown something like that before?

I don't want to get into the odd casting that has Lois Lane age backwards 17 years. In the second movie which supposedly happened 5 years before, Lois was about 30-32.

Suddenly, Lois is 20 with a 5 year old kid. The math required ot do that one is even creepier than the stalking.

But I figure if a movie as bad as the fantasic four gets a sequal, why not Superman Returns?

You see, I heard all these bad reviews before I saw the film about how Brandon Routh didn't measure up to Christopher Reeves and how he was too serious, etc. So I watched it not expecting to like it.

But in fact, I liked his seriousness. That's how I like my superheroes. Serious and powerful. And of course, extremely handsome. ..|

As for the plot, well think back to the first Superman when Lex was trying to start an earthquake to drop California into the ocean and create.........prime real estate in Arizona and Nevada. Extremely silly. Absurd. So I guess I was prepared for the usual absurd villian stuff. Not that I like it. I wish the villians really scared me and were believable.

So you're right about that, Soil. The plot had a lot of problems. Like the rest of the series.

I don't know. I just came away from it enoying it more than I expected. Oh, and I liked Kevin Spacey too. He was a much better Luthor.
